Updated. Looking forward to 3.8 Snapshots already.
Dragging of tabs with previews displayed is still ugly and harder to do than before.

@pesala: Second! (Both to your comment and to being the second post )

Would be nice to see these fixed before release: VB-77547 VB-77344 VB-76896
-
@LonM No match in the search for any of them except for you asking for a fix before the release. What are they?
-
@potmeklecbohdan VB-76896 is related to what @Pesala mentioned above with tab drag images being broken, VB-77344 & VB-77547 are problems with how new tabs opened within tiled tabs don't work properly.

Last couple of Snapshots have been rock solid for me, and now that input focus is finally back in the URL bar on startup, I don't really have any pet bugs to be sorted. I don't really use tab stacking and dragging so those don't bother me, but I'm sure they will bother others
I'm sure if I dig deep in my Vivaldi Jira folder I will find some pet bugs but nothing I'd notice on a daily basis.
-
@Pesala And here I was hoping that this and a few other tab dragging related problems would be fixed before 3.7 released; specifically VB-77814, VB-77815, VB-77816, and VB-77817.
EDIT
For anyone that is curious what these bugs are:- VB-77814: Has to do with the fact that tab dragging does not work at all in private windows
- VB-77815: The placement preview when dragging pinned tabs is unnecessarily large
- VB-77816: There's not a simpler dragging version like in 3.6, for when the tab hasn't been dragged out of the tab bar.
- VB-77817: "Minimize Active Tab" just works terribly with the new tab dragging - it even results in some wonky behaviour when trying to reorganize tab stacks.

@Pathduck said in Vivaldi 3.7 RC 1 – Vivaldi Desktop Browser snapshot 2218.32/34:

Well, it is. Even if I’ve forbidden it to be.

can anyone confirm (new in this snaposhot):
open rss panel
close vivaldi
open vivaldi
the unseen/new counter for every rss is vanished in the rss panel, until you switch to the mail panel. if you now switch back, the counters are back (and stay (aslong as you don't close vivaldi)) -
@Pesala I agree.
From reading the forums, I see a few users that had trouble with tab stacking with the previous versions of Vivaldi. The drag+hover for a second to stack was a little confusing to some users.
So this new method of tab dragging/stacking seems to improve the ability to tab stack. However, re-ordering tabs is much more difficult. I find that if I try to re-order tabs, I'm more likely now to accidentally create a tab stack, create a new window, or have nothing happen at all.
I think one issue is that the 'hit box' for re-ordering tabs is too small. For example, if I have only two tabs open (with tabs on top), and I want to drag the 2nd (right) tab to be the 1st tab my mouse will almost be overtop the Vivaldi V menu before the dotted box shows that I can drop the tab. At that point, I'm very close to the left side of the dotted box. There seems to only be about a centimeter of space before my mouse is over top of the Vivaldi V menu, and if I go that far then instead of the re-ordering operation I will create a new window (or the operation will fail entirely and nothing will happen).
It seems like the most reliable way to re-order the 2nd tab and the 1st tab is to: drag the 2nd tab to the left until the dotted box shows. Then instead of letting go, continue to drag the tab, but instead move back to the right so that you are closer to the middle of the dotted box. So you almost have to drag back and forth to reliably re-order the tabs.

@derDay The RSS Panel counter doesn't work for me at all, and i've never even seen it work. On the individual Feeds i have no problems, only on the panel icon.
-
@Ruarí I see that settings for refreshing web-panels aren't saved. After restart all settings are gone.
bug VB-77856 "Webpanel lost periodic reload setting after Vivaldi restart"

I created a new folder in the bookmarks tree. I wanted to move some bookmarks into this newly created folder. I tried both drug and drop and cut and paste. The bookmarks did not move. But after I added one bookmark to the folder by "Bookmark Active Page", both drug and drop and cut and paste started working.

@wlodek I can confirm (actually, it’s important that the folder is empty, not necessarily new).
-
@potmeklecbohdan @wlodek I can confirm too. There might be a bug report alsready, but I couldn't find it.

@Folgore101
yeah, the counter at the panel never worked for me, too. but I speak about these
strange, that they work for you. did you try, what I wrote above?
