What Is Wrong With the Vivaldi Suite of Services?
-
I try to start a blog, and the stupid platform keeps asking me to confirm my phone number ... which it eventually does mysteriously. Now Wordpress is accusing my blog of being spam, even though it's comprised of (right now only one) letter
swritten to my Oregon US senators.Just what is going on here? Are the devs just puking out broken product like they're working for Microsoft? Or am I being censored because I'm not some left-wing extremist who hates himself for being white? (I'm a moderate liberal, I guess, though some of my beliefs are pretty progressive and some are relatively conservative.)
I like the browser, but so far my experience with everything else offered by Vivaldi has proven to be more unpleasant than my experiences with Windows 95 and with Facebook have been!

@grauenstadt You will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
Sorry, but this blog has been marked as spam as defined in our Terms of Service.
The admin has already been contacted to review.Today being Sunday, it might be a while before a human being reviews your blog.
Does it contain any links? Akismet is quite strict on new users. Once you get established, it is more reasonable. My own blog contains quite a lot of links.

@Pesala Yeah, I'm not going to grovel to people who get paid ridiculous salaries to continually ship broken products … not when I'm a covid-retired cook who has to do his job right for peanuts. If I sent out food orders like software developers shipped their products, I'd be out of a job within a week, often that very day. Nor am I not going to describe my experiences and feelings and impressions like I'm wooing a pigeon; I fail to see how it's appropriate to smile and make friends when someone just dropped a deuce on my forehead. If people are sensitive about others' opinions regarding heir work, the only rational solution is to work better and harder — not blame the aggrieved for being understandable frustrated and irate. This is the sort of servile mentality consumer capitalism requires in order to flourish. (I know my legal definitions of abuse, threats, and harassment, by the way.)

@grauenstadt If you used intentionally used vinegar on your deserts instead of honey, you would also be out of work that very day. If it was an honest error, you would expect no more than a scolding.
No one is asking you to grovel, but you are expected to follow the Code of Conduct that you agreed to by signing up to this site.

@Pesala Sorry, I just dislike IT people.
All software is a pile of errors, like houses built by all three of the little pigs out of their minds on peyote. I don't think in my entire life I've burned as much toast as software devs bake mistakes and vulnerabilities into one large corporate web site or suite of applications. I'm not being mean about this, by the way — just saying how I feel and why.
I live in a city that's been completely overrun by techies, who are arrogant and think they know better than everyone … promoting a culture of corporate elitism while beleaguering society with their exorbitant, unnecessary, and inefficient tech "solutions" that seldom function properly but still manage to successfully increase wealth disparity and environmental degradation … yet for all their bluster they're tech-infantilized consumer zombies who can't do anything without some AI or algorithm holding their hand.
I'll just keep using Blogger and forget this Vivialdi stuff. I will say, however, that I'm feeling as though the code of conduct is being invoked here in a spirit of suppression of justifiable criticism. Facts are facts, and the facts are as I describe them. Metaphorically speaking, If IT guys flew aboard their own software they'd find themselves in the fiery wreck of a Boeing 737 Max.
You know where I stand now. I'm done. I'll play nice from here on out, though not enthusiastically.

You only see outside what is within you. Love or hate.
