Is there a way to adjust the scroll amount/speed in Vivaldi?
-
I've used Firefox for a long time now, but have decided to investigate alternatives due to how poorly development seems to be going. The main two things I liked about FF were addons (which are now being abandoned in favour of chrome extensions,) and reconfigurability (i.e., all the things I could change in about:config or via addons.) Right now the most immediate thing I miss is that I was able to change the scrolling speed. I had it set to ~10 lines of text for each scroll event, which was nice; Vivaldi's scrolling speed is painfully low in comparison and I'm finding it quite jarring. Is there a way to do this in Vivaldi without extensions? (If it can be done /with/ extensions, please let me know which.) Cheers.

I've recently noticed that I'm having the same problem and there doesn't seem to be any way to change it. There is actually a temporary solution, if you don't mind having a separate extension to handle your scrolling. It's called Smooth Scroll (the icon is a purple flame or something) and you can get it on the Chrome Web Store. Since I don't want any extra extensions, I'm trying to cope with what's in Vivaldi, but when I was using Chrome, Smooth Scroll was one of the extensions I couldn't go without.
It allows you to set how many scrolls it makes, animation speed, animation time… etc. It's a long list of settings, but that's because the extension is very powerful and the animation is really smooth and really neat, once you get used to it, it's hard to go back.

Smooth Scroll is extremely important feature. To improve it (scroll amount/speed) in Firefox I changed this pref (in about:config):
**
mousewheel.min_line_scroll_amount** = 50 (5 default) -
If you want fast scrolling, use the middle-mouse button autoscroll.

@Benguin Did you ever find a solution?

Also still wondering about this. It's fine on windows, but on linux I find the vivaldi scroll painfully slow/sluggish for some reason. Would like a setting to speed it up.

I cannot tell if the previous posters seek a keyboard solution, or mouse-based. If the former i can't help. If the latter, this extension is always the first one i install in all my chromium browsers in Linux:

Another extension which could help (Both for keyboard and mouse)
[Just uncheck the "bouncy edge" effect. Some sites don't like it] -
@Hadden89 , it is the one that I use, without a doubt the best smooth scroller in the Store

Hi,
About Scroll, there are 1 or 2 entries on Flags, as a workaround would help.

If you want to scroll faster, you could simply drag the thumb around. You can then scroll at whatever speed you like.
