Tab, menu and Speed Dial fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2218.3
-
@ruarí: 4 IMAP accounts here, update worked just fine, no problem.
EDIT except that I like to have the mail panel at the top and it somehow moved below downloads, history, notes and tabs, and I don't know how to get it back up there
-
getting an invalid certificate error NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID with this build on https://webtrading.onvista-bank.de/login whereas Chrome, Firefox and (in a VM) Vivaldi 3.6.2165.3 do not give me a certificate error. Certificate details -> certification path says "certificate status: the certificate is OK".
EDIT: restarted Vivaldi and no more error. Go figure.

What do you mean by that? To move the icons/buttons in the order you wanted them to be?
Just grab them with leftmouse while pressing
shift
. -
@Dancer18 ...I ... didn't know that....
-
@WildEnte It is the same with the web-panels. You just cannot mix them. There is a barrier below the implemented panels (mail, notes, calendar, contacts, bookmarks, history...)
-
@ugly: The interface is a bit rough at this time. Basically you select Opera 12, unclick using the default folder, select the Profile folder and start. It will at this time import all accounts and your contacts. It can take a while with a lot of mails. The mail accounts are imported as inactive and you will need to activate them when this is done. Import progress is displayed in the status bar at this time.

It did not import any of my contacts. Is this a bug?
-
@Pesala Can confirm the "0" account. It funnily also imported a single IRC server for me.
Observations
- I could not see any information about the import process in the progress bar.
- Only a single account was imported, not sure if it needs a fresh profile
- Local folders were not imported at all
edit: Deleted the IRC account and the "0" vanished. But I still do not know what exactly one is supposed to do in order to get the account added (or maybe it's just buggy). Selecting
~/.opera/
should be correct, or not? -

just wanted to jump in here and say that you've made my entire year by creating a Feeds Panel. It doesn't work but I don't care, I'm happy.
BTW, the Feeds icon is slightly bigger than the rest... I think it's squished up a bit, isn't it?

Ctrl + F2 "Panels" =

Yes, that sounds like a bug. I got all my contacts.
Overall the new import code is still unfinished. Your feedback on issues is very valuable. Please report a bug on this issue and give us as much details as possible.

Thanks. For me the feeds panel actually works, but we will need to figure out why it does not work for you.
Yes, the icon looks a bit big. We will need to fix that.

@jon I am importing from a Standalone version of Opera 12.18. Import in Progress takes a while.
- First attempt rebooted my PC without warning (could be excessive CPU load).
- Second attempt failed
- Third attempt imported mail + one empty account (VB-77637)
- I am now trying again to see if I can get my contacts.
It might be better design to separate contacts import from mail import. Since contacts.adr is a separate file that should be easy enough to implement.

I think so too.

@Pesala , ouch! Looks like you are having a lot of problems. Are you importing into a new Vivaldi instance or into an existing one? I guess I would recommend only using fresh accounts for testing import at this time.
We are missing details when it comes to import. This is still very unfinished, but we wanted to get feedback about issues people run into and we are getting that. Obvously you should be able to only import contacts and also be able to select which accounts to import. Those things will come.
Vivaldi currently starts by importing the contacts, so that is what you should see happen first. If there are no contacts, something failed. Please add any details you find in the console log to any bug you report.

Ah, it was because I had Mail and Feeds disabled in experiments . I restarted and it's working \o/
I guess in stable you won't need to enable a flag, but in case you guys opt-in the feature, might be good UX to disable the Feeds Panel until it's activated I guess?

@jon Reported as:
(VB-77646) Contacts Not Imported
I repeated the test with a copy of 3.6 RC1 after upgrading that to the latest version. I had set up mail accounts, but obviously had not tried the import yet.
Testing with a fresh install might be best. I might try a fresh standalone install to C:\TEMP\Vivaldi if I have time.

Thanks. Yes, testing with a fresh account is probably best at this time, but we should look into why it happens for you in any case.
