Confirmation popup after download

Not sure exactly when it started, but very recently, just today in fact, after downloading program/setup (i.e. - .exe, .msi, etc.) files, I get a Popup that tells me such files may harm my computer and asks me whether or not I want to keep said file. Is this a new feature in Vivaldi? Is there a way to "shut it off"? What's the story with this? It's very annoying. I realize some people aren't very careful about what they download. I'm not one of them. If I am not familiar with, or otherwise don't trust a program, I won't download it in the first place. However, if I initiate the download it's because I DO want said file and having that popup appear before it actually saves it is, well, ANNOYING!!!
Thanks in advance for any help any of y'all can give me about this issue.
Weird that it has only started for you now. Other users have been annoyed by it for a long time.
It's a Chromium thing, and it used to have a "don't ask for this file type" option but Chromium removed that... Hopefully Vivaldi can add back the option to supress such messages in the (near) future.
Since about one week I have the same issue.
Before this annoying did'n show up.
I'm searching since 3 days now how to disable this very annoying message.
I also don't recall seeing this popup message box before until the past few weeks.
There's a big problem with this design, though, not being discussed here:
The message sometimes does NOT appear at the end of the download so my file hangs at 100% yet will not finish.
When this happens, I cannot open/use the downloaded file. If there's no popup, you can't click KEEP to finish the download. And I can't see any way to induce the missing or hidden popup by doing something like minimizing/maximizing the Vivaldi window, etc. Likewise, I can't figure out what cases makes this required popup appear intermittently.
This is a big problem when downloading files!
