Making NOTES more useful
-
Hello group.
I'm an old dog trying to learn new tricks; i.e. I have used computers for ~ 50 yrs but I'm trying to master Vivaldi.
In my browsing life, I follow stocks in the stock market and I'd like to make use of Notes in this regard.
So, for example -- in my imagination -- I have just found the Vivaldi stock page "VIVA" and it has a chart w VIVA's current price and I am interested in buying VIVA but at a lower price, I'd like to be able to use notes to include the URL for the VIVA page in my note with a timestamp and alarm to remind me to look at it again at a certain day/time.
I know that NOTES is a newish function in Vivaldi and it is being worked on but I thought maybe someone had an idea of how I could accomplish the above task using Vivaldi's talent or by adding some extension that I haven't found yet in combination to make my dream come true.
Thank you for your time.

Damn, I knew it. All these promises of no outside investors and then Vivaldi goes live on the stock market. It’s Opera all over again. Next thing some Russian company buys out Vivaldi and switches the engine to Gecko and we lose M3. Why??
-
@janrifkinson If you copy selected text to a note the URL of the page from which it is copied is included in the note. Look at the pane at the bottom of the note and click on the link icon to open the page.
You can set alarms using the status bar clock.

Thank you. I think I followed your suggestion.
After creating a note from selected text, I followed along & clicked the URL & the page opened. Then, with that window opened, I set an alarm for a minute. Then I went on to other things as one would do in a natural setting. One minute later the alarm notification in the lower right corner of the browser displayed but no page. In this instance I am being reminded that I'm supposed do something but what? I must remember & find the proper URL/page again. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe there's special setting?

@janrifkinson When you set the alarm you can name it to remind you what it is about, as I have done in my screenshot.
Maybe the Calendar is more suitable for your needs?
