Cannot create Google Calendar
-
Following current directions found here I am unable to create a Google Calendar.
The problem begins with this instruction: "Follow the login instructions in Google’s pop up login window that opens and log in;"
The only information I can add is my Google User Name email account. From there I get the following:
Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
I can see my Google Calendar in Vivaldi Browser. What I want to do is to synch the data in my Google Calendar into my Vivaldi webmail calendar. (I think I'm using the right words).
Thank you.

@janrifkinson Why are you using the help site for the Vivaldi browser calendar to get events into your webmail calendar?
edit: also you seem to have created 3 very similar topics:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/53707/sync-to-google-calendar
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/55638/consistent-errors-around-calendars
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/55570/very-frustrated-vivaldi-newbieYou need to make clear what your end goal is. Is it syncing your Google server calendars to the Vivaldi client, importing Google server calendar events to the Vivaldi webmail server, or something else entirely? You need to make sure you know what you want, or else we won’t be able to help

What I also want to add is the issue Google isn’t allowing Vivaldi users to add Google Calendar accounts to the browser is overall the single most painful issue in M3 currently. How this has been figured out for Mail but not for Calendar I can’t explain. Foregoing Google servers and using the Vivaldi webmail server for Calendars seems to be no viable solution for less technically inclined users, who just want their Calendar in Vivaldi without hassle.

@luetage Thank you for your comments & trying to help me.
I think you have to consider that some of us (ok, well...maybe only me) are having a hard time using the right terms when asking questions, seeking help or reporting some error. Vivaldi has a steep learning curve to get the most out of it IMO.
If I'm not supposed to use the help site for Vivaldi browser calendar to get events into webmail calendar and I don't know how to do it, then where should I go?
As to what I want.... what I want is to be able to enter data in google or vivaldi calendar and see the results in the other calendar. Maybe this is not possible & I will have to decide to use one or the other.
My goal in consistent errors entry is to report an error I see consistently when I am using Vivaldi webmail calendar. I think that's not the same as the other two. Where am I supposed to post that?
I am frustrated because some options are sort of duplicated: in browser, not in browser and they have names that are too similar for someone like me to distinguish. Today you used "M3". Does that relate to webmail? And you said not synching Google calendar is the most frustrating since this is solved with gmail but I haven't seen anything about synching Gmail with vivaldi webmail. I'm sure there is an article somewhere.
You ask me "Is it syncing your Google server calendars to the Vivaldi client, importing Google server calendar events to the Vivaldi webmail server," that I want? The answer is either and both as I cannot do either.
Maybe as a new user I should just stop posting altogether for a while, go back to google & play with Vivaldi when I have time instead of trying to make Vivaldi work for me. (Just thinking....)
And, finally, how do I stop getting a daily question about what I am listening to? At first I thought it was cute. Now it's become a PITA for me b/c I think it's something I'm supposed to read where I can learn something instead of wasting my time.
Thank you.

@janrifkinson What you have to understand is that there is no syncing between Vivaldi webmail server and Google server. Both of them are central hubs from which clients (like Vivaldi browser app or Google Android Calendar app) are being synced. So you have to decide whether you want to use the Vivaldi infrastructure, or the Google infrastructure. That is the distinction, server and client, you mustn’t mix those two up and I know it’s hard to grasp. Vivaldi browser currently has issues syncing with the Google server, as you experienced yourself, but syncing your devices/clients/apps from the Vivaldi server is a process that isn’t easy. You shouldn’t stop using Vivaldi, the browser is fine and works well, but maybe you should hold off on trying to get the calendar sync in Vivaldi going and just use the online Google calendar instead when you are using a desktop browser. At least until Vivaldi has settled their issues with Google. Then it will be only a matter of inputting your credentials in calendar settings.
