Restoring windows with tabs via trash icon doesn't work correctly
-
I thought I had reported this before but couldn't find it - and this issue has been happening for many months now.
If you launch Vivaldi and click the trash icon, it will group previously closed browser windows together with all the tabs each contained, something like the below:
1 - Restore windows with 9 tabs.
2 - Restore window with 1 tab.
3 - Restore window with 17 tabs.
4 - Restore window with 5 tabs.
5 - Restore window with 33 tabs.If I want to restore the window with 33 tabs (5) and I select this, it does not restore this window with 33 tabs. It will restore the window with 9 tabs (1). If I then select it again, it will cycle through each 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 each time I select.
So you quickly restore what you wanted without restoring everything before the window in the list.
Hopefully that makes sense...?
I've just remembered, I believe I reported this to Vivaldi via Twitter actually and not on this forum.
But anyway, this has been the case for many months now.
Can anyone here replicate this issue? Running Vivaldi app on Windows 10.

@zigojacko It is a well known issue that has been around for some time. I have no idea when it will be fixed.
-
@Pesala Thanks for confirming this - well at least it is a known issue but very disappointing that it hasn't been addressed sooner as it is a highly frustrating issue that I experience on a weekly basis.
-
@Pesala do you have a way of flagging this to someone at Vivaldi or is there anywhere to vote on bugs that need addressing or the suchlike?
-
Note to Vivaldi:
This is really pi$$ing me off now. This issue has been apparent for months.
Can someone please acknowledge the bloody issue and get it fixed!??
I'm very close to leaving VIvaldi over it because for a bug to be present for as long as this one has yet they continue to keep rolling out stupid unnecessary and unimportant features is just plain ignorant of the issue and doesn't bode well.
-
@Gwen-Dragon I don't believe I reported it via the bug tracker but @Pesala above said it as a known issue...?
Maybe we should report it again?

Have mercy, do no shoot the pianist!
Only if she plays the wrong tune.
zigojacko did not report it, someone else did.

@Gwen-Dragon they might not think it is a serious enough issue until someone tells them? Not sure what is best but I will be leaving Vivaldi if it isn't fixed soon, hah. I shouldn't have to take 20 extra clicks to restore my window sets of tabs every time I launch the browser...

Others may not agree with you that it is a serious issue, and three months is not long to fix a bug.
For you, with your workflow, it may be a serious issue. For me, with my workflow (I seldom open more than five tabs in two windows), it is a minor issue that I can easily work around.
With so many bugs to fix and new features to complete, it is clear that not every issue can be given the highest priority.

@zigojacko My intervention (and your posts forcing me to answer internally) resulted in new priority, was set to highest P1, and a developer is checking for a fix now.
You're amazing! Thank you so much for giving them a nudge
