Vivaldi on MX Linux. Buttons fail after several sleep / resume cycles
-
Hi, I have verified this on three systems and two kernels, regular and AHS. Vivaldi left up in full screen or windowed. After several resumes The V menu button up in the left corner and several other controls go unresponsive. This can be cleared by minimizing and maximizing again. 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 resolution. Very few customizations. Repeats after uninstall/reinstall but I did not hunt down the leftovers since my settings , bookmarks, and passwords all came back. Fully updated MX and Vivaldi. I know, it's just two extra clicks after each fail to get it back but it IS annoying.
Any help would be appreciated.

Three separate computers running their own MX linux all Intel, all using Intel on-chip graphics. The problem seems specific to MX. I didn't see it on Mint or windows.
There is a brief flash and overwrite of something on the screen when the failing button is pressed but no action.

I tried disabling desktop compositing.
THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE. Fails on every resume. -
So, it would appear the problem is closely related to compositing. Can anyone suggest a settings change that would help or is this a code problem in Vivaldi?
I haven't seen any similar problem for Firefox or any other application under MX. -
OK, I may have found a solution. The problem is not present in MX Fluxbox mode so it is specific to XFCE in MX. Now I have to decide whether I can live with Fluxbox.

This appeared to be fixed in version 3.6.2165.36
but reoccurred. -
Hi,
This menu malfunction is happening to me as well, exactly as you describe. Using MX linux KDE 23.1

Depend on video driver, i fear. KDE Compositing is sometimes the cause.
Have you ever tried to unset or set 2D acceleration?
vivaldi://flags/#disable-accelerated-2d-canvas to Enabled and restart? Or if that does not help to Disabled and restart? Just try.
