Branch point – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2165.3

@Pathduck Just a picture from a recent ride. Since we branched to stablise, I thought it was a funny joke to hang it from a branch... but... maybe it was just silly.
-
@derDay Just a picture I took on a recent ride
I thought it was funny because "branch point" but it might just be that my humor is poor.

@Ruarí It's a very nice picture, it reminded me I need to get out skiing one day while the snow lasts. Impressive going up to Linderudkollen by unicycle now!
As for regressions - I hope we can get a fix for the no focus on URL bar on start of the browser. I thought it had been fixed on last Snapshot but only for new windows it appears. Not that I have a big problem with it, it's just a quick Alt+D after all, but frustrating for new users expecting to be able to start typing once the browser launches.

If the mail client is going to be released in 3.6 it would good to fix
(VB-75439) Order of Panel Icons Does not Match Order in Settings
The increased number of items on the Trash Can makes it difficult to clear the list, as one now has to remember the shortcut or scroll down to the bottom of the list.
(VB-75088) Closed Tab List is Too Long
(VB-73287) Report a Bug Opens the Vivaldi forum is still causing problems: This user was baffled why the menu item directs users to the forum and not to the Bug Report wizard, or the Help Topic on reporting bugs.
-
@pesala: Mail won't be released as final for 3.6. It is still considered TP

[Settings][Panels] Lazy Loading option (VB-75737)
Care to explain this one? I thought panels were always "lazy loading"?
EDIT: Oh now I get it, if the user can spare the memory (~50MB/panel) they can be fully loaded on startup if option is unselectedUse page title for URLs dragged to desktop (VB-3716)
That's a Really nice fix! Forums get a lot of complaints on this one, finally it can be sorted, well done to the devs

Use page title for URLs dragged to desktop (VB-3716)
I just learned that I can do this
Nearly broke my head a few days ago trying to figure out how to save a URL as a shortcut to the desktop. -
A nokia camera? Is that a time travelling unicycle?

17th
vivaldi://about/ has macOS 11 as the beta number 10.16 (it is correct in stable builds, not in the snapshots)

Obviously this should be removed anytime now.
Chromium is targeting version 88 for the removal of Flash Player support

I can't delete all the files in the download panel at once. It didn't work last time and this time. Normal in the previous version
-
I often go out for rides in the morning before starting work. The other day when I was returning from the woods, I bumped into Maria (who does our Android snapshots). She took a picture of me.

Really nice to see her, it was the first time this year. With Covid-19 we aren't really going to the office these days, so the only time we see each other is on video conferences.

Most days I go cycle to Grefsenkollen, sometimes twice a day (before and after work). A Norwegian celeb (who you will know) caught me on camera the other day and created a funny video and put it on Instagram. It got a ton of views. I couldn't reply though as I don't have any accounts associated with Facebook.
-
@pathduck: Yes, one of the reasons I never used the panel for sites is that I had to remember to click to "activate" the site when starting the browser. Now that's not needed.
-
"[Themes] No more ugly pale color on twitch.tv (VB-75194)"
Does that imply that you're actually taking requests about "ugliness" that a particular site triggers in Vivaldi if Accent Color is enabled in the theme? If so, I can think of dozens or hundreds, but I'd have to refresh my memory about them since this is the first feature that I disabled due to this fundamental problem. It's like a box of chocolates: you never know what you're gonna get.

[WISH] clock fonts should scale, as much as I zoom a web page
I often zoom web pages, to see bigger fonts on the screen, but Vivaldi UI fonts don't get bigger as well and clock fonts are sooo small: I almost can't see them.
I wished that Vivaldi fonts' size grew, at least by 50% of the zoom level, that is:
- when I zoom to 120%, Clock UI fonts could grow one point (from 9, to 10)
- when I zoom to 140%, clock UI fonts could grow two points (from 9, to 11).
- ...
UI fonts growth could be capped to 14 points, or whatever...
Anyway, AS I AM GETTING OLDER (!) I almost cannot set a timer using the fancy Vivaldi clock window, because fonts remain small...
Anyone support this, too?

It seems that release cycling is going very well ^^
