Vivaldi's window doesn't open maximized (multiple profiles)
-
This happens when there is already a running process of Vivaldi, let's say "person 1" and when you open the "person 2" profile, Vivaldi opens not fully maximized. Can you guys confirm?
-
Yes, that's a longstanding issue. It not only happens when you open a second profile, it also happens with the first profile that has several windows with many tabs. Profile shortcut is set to "always maximize" but it doesn't work.

@RasheedHolland No, i can not confirm that. I tested with 3.5.2115.81 Stable on Windows 10 Pro v.2009 (Build 19042.685)
Weird, are you sure? You should create multiple profiles and then launch the second or third profile, while profile 1 is already running.

OK thanks for letting me know, has this already been reported as a bug? I use this tool called AutoSizer but it also doesn't work. It's a very annoying problem.
-
Will this annoying bug ever be fixed? You should be able to open multiple Vivaldi windows from different profiles, fully maximized.
-
Why hasn't this been fixed? This is very unprofessional guys!

@RasheedHolland
Hi, did you report this to the Vivaldi bug tracker?

Sorry, forgot about this topic, and I also forgot if I made a bugreport. How can you check this stuff again?

Did you do it? I can't believe that this still hasn't been fixed yet, where is the quality control? It really makes Vivaldi look bad.
-
Which Vivaldi?
I have no issue to start different profiles maximiesed in Windwos 11. -

I thought you was willing to make the bug report, but you meant you was willing to look for the status of the bug report. But are you saying that you don't see this problem anymore on Windows 11, I assume with Vivaldi 5.7? Then they must have fixed it. But it's still present on Win 8 and 10 with Vivaldi 5.6.
-
@RasheedHolland Vivaldi 5.7 Stable is the current for Windows. I do not test older versions as they will not get a fix.

Perhaps anyone else can confirm that this bug has been fixed in Vivaldi 5.7? I haven't upgraded yet because Vivaldi 5.6 works just fine for me on Win 8.1 and Win 10.

I almost can't believe it, but so far it seems that this bug may have been fixed in Vivaldi 5.7, because I just installed it as a portable/standalone version and when you open multiple profiles like Person 1 and Person 2, the Vivaldi window opens maximized.
This is on Win 10, I still need to check it on Win 8.1 and of course I also still need to upgrade Vivaldi 5.6 to 5.7 in order to see if this bug really has been fixed. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure if Vivaldi 5.7 will work on Win 8.1? Would be a major bummer if not.

Thanks, and the funny thing is that it's even fixed in an older version of Vivaldi 5.7, but it should be configured in Windows to always open maximized. This means that it's also fixed on Win 8.1, but of course the newest Vivaldi 5.7 can't be installed. However, it's not completely fixed since it still sometimes opens in a resized window, but only if you run Vivaldi 5.6 and Vivaldi 5.7 side by side. But it's not a big deal since I normally don't do this.

You have to be kidding me. It seems that this bug has been reintroduced in Vivaldi 6.1, is this a joke or what?

@RasheedHolland Please report issue to Vivaldi bug tracker. Once that is done, share the bug number (beginning with VB-) you got by bug report mail. Thanks for helping us making Vivaldi better.
