Tab Improvement Tips

  • Arrrghh! This has put me nervous now...! Sorry... but I was writing you here this topic and I closed the tab unintentionally and it didn't prevent me from doing it. It should have said, "are you sure you want to leave this window?"... grr... not sure if its just a front end problem or if tabs also have that protection, but either way, the forum lacks that protection. Back to what I was writing... 1) Possibility of going through tabs in the order they are displayed, like chrome and other browsers or apps. And also, possible issue here, I've tried it through System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts > Vivaldi Show Next/ Previous Tab "ctrl + tab (+ shift)", and it didnt work, it continued the same. 2) When opening a link in a new tab it didn't open relatively to the tab I'm in, it goes to the end. I know the browser is still new and beta, but I'm really loving it, and wanted to stick with it, but these specific problems really mess up my work flow, obligating me to go back to chrome for the time being. :/

    1. Possibility of going through tabs in the order they are displayed, like chrome and other browsers or apps. And also, possible issue here, I've tried it through System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts > Vivaldi Show Next/ Previous Tab "ctrl + tab (+ shift)", and it didnt work, it continued the same.

    2. When opening a link in a new tab it didn't open relatively to the tab I'm in, it goes to the end.

    1. Cycle tabs in display order is an option in settings.
    2. Today, a new snapshot was release that offers you this setting. See: https://vivaldi.net/

Hopefully that will make things a bit easier for you…
