I am here only for this!!
Haha -
@Ruarí Yes but, given by you gives another feeling
I'm honored! -
You are all so fast today!!! Wow! Also thanks to @Ornorm for the gifs. They are amazing!

[Quick commands] Nickname search doesn’t trigger (VB-74941)
hooray, or nooo.
open a bookmark folder nickname via QC still don't work -
@ornorm: Trust me, I am the one who is honored!

I absolutely love this over the previous stack UI.
Also, Idk if this is where I comment on a feature to add, but being able to pin the tab stacks when they are 2 level, would be a nice addition. Maybe have you set a custom color for the tab count icon so you don't get confused. Just a suggestion. -
Flag Changes: Chrome 88
Here are a list of interesting flag changes with chrome 88.
Chrome copying, or being better than, vivaldi with new features:
- #scrollable-tabstrip-buttons - scrollable tab bar ow works in chrome, like this request
- #side-panel - For a read later function, doesn't seem to work yet, like this request
- #enable-tab-search - like this request but with searching as well
- #insert-key-toggle-mode - Like in word processors, works with vivaldi notes in visual mode!
New privacy and security "features":
- #enable-webrtc-hide-local-ips-with-mdns - don't know how this works
- #cookies-page-redesign - I can't see any difference
- #privacy-advisor - Can't see any difference
- #detect-form-submission-on-form-clear - making password forms more secure by making sure they actually get removed from the page one submitted
- #permission-predictions - uses safe browsing API to predict permission choices for you
New web technology experiments:
- #font-access-chooser - Don't know how to test, doesn't seem to be any permission UI yet
- "SMS Receiver" is now "WebOTP" - For one time passwords
- #destroy-profile-on-browser-close (?)
- #d3d11-video-decoder - more hardware acceleration
- #shutdown-support-for-keepalive - Delay shutdown if there is a keepalive request active: https://fetch.spec.whatwg.org/#request-keepalive-flag
Removed:
- #allow-insecure-localhost - Bad for local developers?
- #enable-desktop-pwas-without-extensions - google seems to have given up development of this (good.)
- #nearby-sharing - Not sure if this ever worked - looks more useful for mobile devices

Since this update, Vivaldi's CPU usage has increased A LOT. Using Linux 64-bit. I checked Vivaldi's process manager (Shift+Esc) and it seems that it mostly comes from "Browser" rather than extensions and stuff (their usage hasn't increased). System process manager says that Vivaldi is using about 13% CPU, which is apparent as the fans are spinning.

It seems that searching using
Post
is broken again in this snapshot. -
@Ruarí Updated previous Snapshot to this one and it now crashes for me whenever I try to access any menu items:
e.g. Help/aboutAlso crashes using vivaldi://about
Same in "Guest Profile"!
If I have two windows open, both disappear! So I tried with a new "Default" Profile
Went through welcome settings, on the final page (Notes/Tiling), I pressed finish and it crashed again!Linux Mint 18.3 KDE

@Gwen-Dragon I'm using Searx as a search engine.
Post
is enabled both in V settings and Searx settings (btw, I may miss something).http://searx.rasp.fr/?q=%s&categories=general&language=fr-FR http://searx.pofilo.fr/?q=%s&categories=general&language=en-US
Thanks for checking.

Very nice. Now... the time has come and Chromium 88 has arrived in Vivaldi Snapshot and with it Manifest v3 that is said to be crippling ad- and most importantly script-blocking extensions, see also https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/54233/the-register-article-on-latest-manifest-v3-status (*)
While Vivaldi's in-built ad & tracking blocker can accept many lists,
-
it is not yet fully compatible with the syntax of all (see uBlock's), so it's missing many thousands of rules,
-
it is lacking CNAME support, see Brave blocks CNAME tracking, what about Vivaldi? , and
-
V will be lacking the ability to block scripts that contain malicious and tracking code, consuming also system resources.
So,
@AlienProber said in The Register article on latest Manifest v3 status.:Vivaldi really needs to make a clear statement on how they plan to address this since it will be in Chrome 88, which is right around the corner.
It doesn't need to be right now, but please enlighten us in the process on how you want to be addressing above 3 points as you so wonderfully do will all (transparent) matters in the blog.
(*)The Register article is writing about "the webRequest API, remaining available in enterprise versions of Chrome and setting up a profile using Chrome's administrator policies" how does it correlate with Vivaldi?
In my opinion, the ad & tracking engine must be further developed to include CNAME exposure and become a more advanced Opera-Presto-like content blocker, working granular like uMatrix, where you can block scripts, css, images, media, frames, etc.
