Folder Awareness and Intelligent Bookmark Placement
-
I wish Vivaldi was aware when a folder in the bookmark tree was selected. Then when the ad bookmark command was sent the page would be set first to said selected folder.
-
@g_bartsch It already does that, unless I misunderstood something.

Thank you @Pesala
Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. Here's an example:
- Highlight a folder in the bookmark pane
- Click the bookmark icon in the address bar
- Observe the folder Vivaldi has chosen to deposit the bookmark into - it won't be the one highlighted in the bookmark pane UNLESS the last bookmark was made in the same folder.
I would like to highlight a folder in the bookmark pane, click the bookmark icon in the address bar (or hit the bookmark key), and have Vivaldi save the bookmark in the highlighted folder without having to navigate the bookmark tree in the add bookmark dialogue.

@g_bartsch You're mixing two different methods.
- Select the folder in the Bookmarks Panel
- Right-click, Bookmark Active Page.
Otherwise, drag the padlock icon and drop it wherever you want in the Bookmarks Panel.

@Pesala Thank you Pesala. My disability makes right-clicking difficult so I do it as little as possible. I never knew about the right-click method. I did know about the drag method, but again my disability makes that slightly difficult.
I like clicking the keyboard shortcut to open the bookmark dialogue and them save the bookmark in the right folder.
Thanks for your help!

@g_bartsch Try the Menu key or Ctrl+M.
-
@Pesala Awesome! Thank you; I can do this easily. (Shame on me because I rely on the menu key at other times.) You made my work-flow easier.
