Major Mute Tab Design Flaw

  • When I try to click on a pinned tab that is playing audio, it just mutes it. There is no way to select this tab outside of keyboard controls.

  • No problem here — just click on the corner of the pinned tab, not on the Mute Icon.

Yes, but the user shouldn't have to click on a slim corner of a tab just to get to it. I agree that it is a clumsy way of accessing a tab with audio playing.

Not sure what they could do that would be better without compromising on anything. That'll take some brainstorming.

  • No brain-storming is needed. Once you know where to click it's easy to do. Keyboard shortcuts can also be used to switch tabs.

What will help is to minimize the current tab on click, which one can do in Opera 12.17, and that will focus the previous tab. That wish is well known, and no doubt will be implemented in due course.
