Toggle UI Animations

How do I toggle off all UI Animations?
I find all the UI Animations (especially the swipe back/forwards animations) to be slow and sluggish.
I dont need any fancy schmancy UI animations or arrows indicating the action I know just made.
Again, How do I fix this?
-
Settings → appearance → use animations.
-
@potmeklecbohdan one of the first things I switched off when I switched to Vivaldi.
-
@ch3f So where do you still see animations?
-
back and forward gestures..2 finger swipe to left and I get an arrow and a fade out, fade in type animation. Same goes for 2 finder swipe to forward.
-
@ch3f This doesn’t seem like a native Vivaldi thing to me. Can you pls post a screenshot?
-
you want me to paste a screenshot of an animation?
-
@ch3f Well, it should be enough if you posted a screenshot from approximately the middle of it. The problem is that I really have no idea what you’re talking about.
-
If you use a tool like sharex you can record gifs, that might help
-
@potmeklecbohdan I will try and record a gif, seems its the only way brb...
This is literally by first attempt at one of these (be nice)
note: notice the arrows on the left and right also I use BTT for gestures.

what's that? an extension? what you're showing in your gif is not normal behaviour, apparently you see this forum with a semitransparent background? No idea how to do that.
-
@ch3f If you use an extension for gestures, it may trigger these animations, so they may be not related to Vivaldi

It's a CSS mod.
-
@iAN-CooG Better Touch Tool its an app not an extenstion, in this case no gesture is assigned jsut so happened 2 finger swipes to go back and forward work but produce these arrows..
-
@iAN-CooG Transparency is done with AfloatX

@ch3f
Hi, can you add your Vivaldi version and device/OS?
It looks like you running a Apple device with touch screen and you post in the modification forum.
It is for modding Vivaldi with CSS and Java script and this is more a troubleshooting issue, if I understand correctly.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Macbook Pro 15" MacOS Catalina, Vivaldi
3.4.2066.76 (Stable channel) (x86_64)I have a "mostly" self coded css, but it has nothing to do with animation but every thing to do with a minimalistic UI.
-
ok I shouldn't even speak because you're on Mac and I'm on Windows, so I don't know any better how it works on your system, but it seems to me you're adding a number of extra stuff that could be the culprit of your issues, and you're blaming Vivaldi for some "animations" that aren't even there in vanilla Vivaldi. Try disabling/removing the extras and try again.

This fixed the issue for stable
defaults write com.vivaldi.Vivaldi AppleEnableSwipeNavigateWithScrolls -bool FALSE
And this one for Snapshot.
defaults write com.vivaldi.Vivaldi.snapshot AppleEnableSwipeNavigateWithScrolls -bool FALSE
Thanks for the help!
