"Unified" inbox
-
Rather than maintain strict separation between accounts, as a user I want to view all unfiled mails (i.e. those are still in an inbox) in one view, whether they've been read or not.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Ah! I've seen this, in the Help Pages:
In All Messages you see emails from all your mail accounts in one central location.
Unread – All unseen and unread messages;
Received – All messages, regardless of the read status;
Sent – All messages you’ve sent from any of your accounts;
Drafts – All messages you have started composting, but haven’t sent or moved to the Outbox for sending;
Outbox – Messages that you’ve finished writing and are ready to send;
Spam – Junk mail. A good place to check when you’re expecting an email, but can’t see it in inbox folders.
Trash – Deleted messages from all accounts....but the only folder I see under "all Messages" is a spam folder - none of the others.

@TbGbe Miraculous. Thank you.
This is no longer a "feature request"!
-
@Gwen-Dragon The problem with using 'received' is that it also pulls in things from any archival folders (and feeds!) you have setup. It's not really a unified inbox as such.

This is now the 2nd or 3rd time someone is referring to this posting (which is a quotation from another thread) for solving this problem.
Could anybody please rephrase this posting since I can't see the relevance. No idea what V-SS is and how it is related when my "All Messages" folder is empty. -
@goedl V-SS is shorthand for Vivaldi Snapshot.
As the mail feature is still in "Technical Preview" it is only available when the Snapshot is installed.
The "All Messages" folder is part of this new mail feature.Some installations of the Snapshot have encountered a problem where the mail configuration is incomplete.
A symptom of this problem is an incomplete list of folders under "All Messages".Vivaldi development are currently working to correct this "incomplete configuration".
In the meantime, the linked to post is describing the actions necessary to correct things when the problem is encountered so that users can test mail now instead of waiting for the "official" bugfix.

Thanks. No idea why this abbreviation did not ring a bell
The procedure works. -

@AbominableDrH The Received folder does show your requested feature.
The Received Folder's compass is far too great for what I'm looking for in an Inbox, because it stores archived mail I don't want to look at in an Inbox, and because currently it holds untold numbers of Feeds as well.
There are two things I'd like to see:
- A unified inbox for mail accounts
- the feeds functionality separated from the mail altogether. It's a different animal and only clutters things up for me.
- oh, and also, PGP.
Perhaps I'm behind the curve on the state of the art for email, but those make the most sense to me.
Very promising job on the mail client though. Bravo!

You can exclude the Feeds and Custom Folders (IMAP folders).
You can also exclude Mailing lists, Spam, and Trash there.
This was all excluded by default, but thought it might be easier to exclude this yourself once you understand the buttons.See the

Yes, thanks. I did find that after I posted.
