Skinning of the Vivaldi menus (main and context) with css
-
Hello everybody.
As far I as I know, and if I´m not wrong, skinning of the Vivaldi menus is not possible due to limitations imposed by the use of the Chromium engine.
Has something changed about it? The white menus are not visually optimal to me, are difficult to distinguish from the background of most webpages.
Browser menus were traditionally light grey or similar and I think it was for very good reason.

Correct

At the moment, menu color is chosen by the OS (win/mac)
(On linux probably you can change such colors)
If you are on a dark OS theme is blackish; if you are on light theme is whiteish. -
@Hadden89 Thanks for answearing, Hadden89.
Bad news, certainly.
For your reply I understand that the color of menus is decided by the chromium component based in OS settings, and therefore Vivaldi can do nothing about it, true?
No way to circumvent that, within or outside Vivaldi?

@torpedopradera Not yet. We have to wait menus become part of the Vivaldi UI and then we can change the colors.

@Hadden89 Thank you very much.

In case you don't know, You can change it for Dark.
Add
--force-dark-mode
at the end of Target on a V ShortCut.--

@Zalex108 I thought
--force dark mode
only applies to websites and that menus are completely dependent on OS settings, that’s interesting. -
@Zalex108 Thank you Zhalex.
Tested, it works and in the case of my setup, only in menus as I want.
Interesting, but it´s not what I was looking for, thanks indeed.

Maybe before, Websites has many options, would be because of this it is on //Flags.
I've been testing to add the //Flag line as CMDLS but didn't found a working method.

Yes,
Despite seemed you were asking but to keep a light theme, to know that is good and would help on some situations with 2 Shortcuts, Day/Light & Dark/Night.
