Any workarounds for gmail login authentication issue?
-
@Ayespy The problem that although for the mail client if we can use passwd instead of outh2, with the calendar not. We would have to have this the credential validation option for the calendar anyway
-
@pantantrollo I have not seen the problem with the calendar - only the email.
-
@Ayespy If you want to add the google calendar, it asks for outh2, which for now does not work.
This in the mail was solved with authorization with passwd, thus solving the authentication in the gmail accounts until the outh2 issue is solved, but that characteristic has not been added to the google calendar

Ok, so just going to put this here since app specific passwords haven't been mentioned here...
Since Google has not yet accepted our mail client as a 'Secure App' (despite a very long standing request), but that should hopefully change soon.
Option 1 (with two-factor auth): For this to work you will need to setup an App Password. For this to work I believe you have to have two-factor authentication set up.
Option 2 (without two-factor auth): Alternatively, you can go to myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps and allow access to 'less secure' apps to use your normal password.

Correct, but only for the mail client case.
For the calendar client, that doesn't work. It has not been enabled by Vivaldi to enter with passwd (NO Outh2)
A greeting -
@gmg Option 1 worked for me. Thank you so much!
