Contacts CardDav sync

This would be a really nice addition.
I feel like vivaldi is trying to be this web suite that includes a lot of the tools that we use on a daily basis. It's not just a web browser.
But it's kinda pointless if I still have to use a fully featured mail client like thunderbird just for my contacts. Why use this powerful web browser then. I might as well just use a more basic web browser and use a mail client then.

Contact management is important to use email efficiently.

CardDav support is really needed. I understand not everyone cares about it but for the folks who do care like in this thread it's a big deal.

Very strong support for this one!
I love Vivaldi's browser mail app, but right now I can't sync contacts! Please let me sync contacts.

For me it is essential to finally use the mail client in vivaldi. -
Yes, please.

All these fancy features added to Vivaldi 7 and still no DAV sync...

We need to be patient. I'm happy that we get to be somewhat involved and I feel they listen to us.
Ok, 2.5yrs later and v7 is now released. Patience has dissolved... are they still listening to us?

Agree. A mail client without the ability to sync with my Google contacts through CardDAV is unusable for me. Just tried version 7's mail again, but despite the hype, no change. Remaining with Thunderbird.

@brianWreaves they are listening - just check out how many feature requests have been marked done (some of them as won't do but a great many of them because the request was implemented) https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/133/done
When there's a plethora of feature wishes and a small team, choices need to be made. I have a lot of feature requests myself that I wish they would implement. It's clear that if a missing feature prevents you from using Vivaldi, do use the alternative that works better for you. Them putting priorities on different things may make other users happy.... It's not like they are trying to annoy those users that need to keep waiting for their feature requests.

I'm sure we all agree on this one, I do wonder, though, why (if I understand correctly) it is implemented for Vivaldi Webmail, but not for the client?

Vivaldi uses an open source server application for their webmail service, it's not self developed like the browser UI and the desktop mail client (or the android and phone and car apps)
