Why are sync and e-mail disabled when you're banned from the forums?

@TbGbe
In the thread's second post, jane.n said "When a user is banned on the Forum temporarily, then they can still use other Vivaldi services". That's the inconsistency. -
@Ayespy
"Since the services are not separable (it's not possible to have one without the other), it would not be possible to have different levels of "bar" between one and another."Assuming you're right and jane.n's wrong: That's just a matter of the way the software's set up now. The software can be re-programmed, so that someone can be blocked from the forums and not e-mail and sync.
"Sync, EMail and forum are all community services. They are not offered or provided to persons who are not community members. The ban is not from the forums, it is from the community. And it is not taken lightly. It is only applied to persons whose very presence is destructive to the community."
For forums: I agree! A forum is a community, and a community must have standards. I've seen what happens when communities don't have standards. It's not pretty.
For sync and e-mail: I don't like that mindset. I think sync should be seen as a feature of the Vivaldi browser, not a "community service". I don't think you should have to be a member of any community to use the Vivaldi browser, or it's sync feature. And (hackers and the like aside) I don't think it's destructive to this community, if someone uses the sync feature.

we will suspend your Vivaldi account for a defined period of time or indefinitely
I read this as:
The suspension for a defined or undefined period (your "temporary ban"), means the services are restored when the ban is lifted. The services are NOT removed and so the user can (then) continue using them.The community ban is the account closure (everything is gone).
It may well be that it depends on the severity of the offence whether access to the services is suspended DURING the "temporary ban".
But I would say "a ban is a ban" - user should lose access DURING the ban period. However, I am not a member of the Vivaldi Team, nor the community manager -
Seems like rigidly defined areas of doubt & uncertainty...

I don't agree with that, this forum is only a part of the Vivaldi community.
Whether it is a large part or a small part is irrelevant; it is NOT the whole! -
@TbGbe Oh, I don't mean to imply that this form is the whole of the Vivaldi community! There are the blogs, of course. And there are those who promote Vivaldi, without ever posting on the Vivaldi forum/blogs (like me, until a couple of days ago).

Thanks everyone for your input. It seems there is some confusion between Vivaldi's Terms of Use and Code of Conduct. I hope the following lines will help to clarify it a bit more:
As a first step, when a user signs up to Vivaldi community & services they agree to the Terms of Use where several conditions are explicitly mentioned that the users agree to follow. If a user doesn't follow these conditions and for example starts spamming on one of the Vivaldi services, then the user's account gets banned immediately without warning.
In a second step, for the community blogs and forum, we set up a Code of Conduct to give some guidelines about how to interact with each other. With the help of the Moderators team we're trying our best to talk to the members first and give second chances (or even third chances) when some of these guidelines are not being followed. For example in case of a conflict and a members is being too unfriendly to another.
I hope this clarifies it a bit, if you still have questions about this or believe that your account should be unlocked, please reach out to me via a private message or via our contact page.

@Echosyn Say you had missed a critical e-mail while you were banned. Because of that, your identity was stollen. Or you got fired from your job. Would that be an appropriate punishment for overzealously sharing a beautiful scientific discovery?
