3.5.2110.3 tabs don't load on start of snapshot
-
Hello,
I Just updated to the latest snapshot on Linux (3.5.2110.3 on Kubuntu 20.10 and Debian 10.1). Since then, when starting the snapshot, restoring the last session, tabs that where open when closing the browser before don't load. They kind of "loop" but never finish loading. I can open each of them manually. Everything worked o.k. with the last snapshot before THIS one. Any ideas?

Hi, Snapshot is a testing version, see https://vivaldi.com/blog/snapshot-vs-stable/. Bugs or problems are being reported to the latest thread of the specific build https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/53155/url-sharing-via-qr-code-and-an-update-to-chromium-87-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-2110-3/145
As always, the usual apply:
ex. ยง3 & ยง4 of https://help.vivaldi.com/article/troubleshooting-issues/
If you would like to report it you can do it by following the instructions here https://help.vivaldi.com/article/reporting-a-bug-in-vivaldi/ or (more explanatory) here: https://vivaldi.com/blog/help-us-reproduce-your-issue/

I have reverted to the previous snapshot (3.5.2080.3 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)). Things work fine with this version. Unfortunately I am somewhat pressed for time at the moment. I will try to report the issue later. Have a nice Sunday...

It's not the best idea to revert to previous Snapshot versions as these don't always contain the latest security fixes, for example the one you have downgraded now is v. 86.0.4240.101 , while Stable is v. 86.0.4240.198 . There have been more than 4 security updates from .101 to .198.
Best thing is to use Stable for daily use and Snapshot for testing the new features, as described in the link above. -
Of course - I know, being an "old" (literally!) IBM systems engineer. However, I have actually NEVER had problems with using the snapshots before this latest one. And, I do have the stable version on my systems (besides Firefox, Chromium, Chrome and - lately - Edge for Linux. Nevertheless, my main occupation is not testing/debugging browsers, but development in the area of web sites/apps-development (Drupal-based). Which is why I use a handful of browsers (did drop Opera, though, when you started Vivaldi). Of course I am still hoping for a Vivaldi mail client to turn up - hope dies last!
