Finally!
-
@hlehyaric: Thanks for waiting! Also:
-
nice chunky update, let's test
-
Non-hiding blocker options in address bar now have a sibling - non-hiding QR-code generator -
@ian-coog: Well that is what happens when it has been a while
P.S. The reason for the delayed updates was related to regressions following the Chromium update and also changes related to code clean up of tabs
-
Chrome 87 Flag changes:
Removed:
- #enable-mark-http-as is removed, this is now default behaviour
- #export-tagged-pdf is removed, this is now default behaviour
- #dns-over-https is removed, I'm not sure if this option is now built-in or not
- #enable-winrt-geolocation-implementation removed, I guess this is now default for windows devices
Added:
- #block-insecure-private-network-requests added, looks good for security
- #turn-off-streaming-media-caching-on-battery added, may be useful on laptops
- #abusive-notification-permission-revocation added, blocks "unwanted" notifications, useful only if you have safe browsing turned on. Personally I just block all notifications...
- #passwords-weakness-check added, visible at chrome://settings/passwords
- #mute-notifications-during-screen-share added, may be useful if you screen share through the browser frequently
- #enable-oop-print-drivers added, should be useful if you have crashy or hanging printer drivers
- #copy-link-to-text added, can now use the deep linking feature without an extension
Chrome copying, or even being better than vivaldi:
- #tab-groups-auto-create added - chrome now has auto tab stacking like vivaldi
- #window-naming added, yet another feature that chrome has implemented before vivaldi! see feature request.
- #enable-ephemeral-guest-profiles-on-desktop added, chrome copying vivaldi's guest profile mode
New stuff if you use devtools:
- CSS Grid debugger, like firefox's dev tools
- Customisable devtools keyboard shortcuts (enable in devtool experiments first)
-
@vort: I told you how to switch it off.

It is theoretically possible that I forgot about it...
Google led me to this topic:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/44585/option-to-disable-hide-content-blocker-icon
Which mention VB-67150. Is it fixed?(If your answer was about CSS hacks, then, sorry, I don't regard it as option)

@Vort Ryarí was talking about the QR code.
We plan to look at other ways to simplify sharing URLs and this button may therefore evolve into a more generic sharing button, but for now it is via QR code and thus the button reflects that. For this snapshot we have enabled it by default to give you a chance to quickly try it out, but we may switch it off in the future while we consider how we want the feature to evolve. To enable or disable it yourself, simply use: “Settings → Address Bar → Address Field Options → QR Code Generator”.
-
@ruarí: Ah, we were really wondering. Can you tell if those regressions are a sign of things to come with future Chromiums or more one-offs?
-
Hey, new tab stack look is pretty decent, me like, much easier to close stuff now than taking your mouse cursor for a ride on your screen
I still miss two options though,
-> that the stack remains open when you close one tab, in order to close more of them.
-> that you can use MMB to close a tab (though it's now more easier to do as the close buttons are aligned under each other) -

Got it.
I was searching for "QR" with built-in search.
And found nothing:
+1 bug

If anyone wants the new tab stack design but without thumbnails, you can use the following mod:
div#vivaldi-tooltip .tooltip .tooltip-item .thumbnail-image { display: none; } #vivaldi-tooltip .tooltip .tab-group .tooltip-item { height: 64px; /* this is enough for 2 lines of title, you could make it more compact */ }

now listening Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah
-
@npro: I came here to say exactly what you did with your first point. That makes the most sense.
-
Is "Open Tabs in Current Tab Stack" something that you meant to enable upon upgrade? None of the above indicates so, at least that I can see.
-
Stacking is heavily better now. Close tab via middle click (or what set in tabs) would be perfect ^^
