Yes I tried that too. I read somewhere that animated GIFs are not supported here and had to be converted to APNG format… that does not work so well either as there is just a link to download the file (see my attempt here: https://vivaldi.net/groups/item/4-nbj)
I have not seen any other clarification yet.
APNG or GIF still don't work because whatever they use after the upload converts the files. This problem is related to the missing EXIF information in JPEG files too.
The only way to see something animated atm. is to attach it to a forum post …
… may be we could simply open up a thread where we can post the images and then link to those ...
The urls for the above files are:
https://vivaldi.net/media/kunena/attachments/310/glaskugel2.gif <- the crystal ball
it's only with GIF into a photo album , other gif are ok for forum etc if i put the link
i have put a link for people who wants to see it….
1. Remove spaces from URL below when posting
https:// vivaldi.net/ media/ kunena/ emoticons/ cheerful .png
2. Substitute emoticon word below for cheerful above.
cool sad smile cheerful wink tongue angry unsure shocked wassat ermm grin sick silly blink blush oops kissing w00t sideways dizzy devil whistling pinch
3. For your reference only below.
:cheer:
:silly:   :woohoo: :side:   :pinch:
4. Test - Encase in image tags to make appear [ img ] URL [ / img ]
https://vivaldi.net/media/kunena/emoticons/oops.png - bad link

I don't work this way.
You can also, for example
1. Go to https://vivaldi.net/blogs/dashboard/write
2. Select Media Manager
3. Create a new forlder under "My Media" rather than under "My albums", in my case I've choosen to name it "Animated Smileys"
4. Click "upload to this folder", upload by drag and drop all you want
5. Collect URLs of "Original" rather than "Thumbnail"
I think this allow you to manage your uploaded content more easily than with Kunena.
Yes, that works too - but I still would prefer if I could add them to the real albums because I do not always want to write a blog post to show my "media" to others …
but it's only for the photo album ,else effectively you can put a link or make a folder etc
Typical. You wait for the PC world to catch up (we have had MNG support in Amiga browsers since it was released), then someone breaks the specification and replaces it.
Unfortunately neither will catch-on.
The fact that GIF is still used today at all is proof many people don't care about smaller files.
"PiNG" has been around since 1995, and I still have to explain it to people that boast about their Photoshop skills.
