More fixes and another minor Chromium bump – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2088.7

[New] Make Google components optional (Hangouts, Cast, Cloud Print) (VB-66018)
This is AMAZEBALLS. Thank you!
Would be nice if someone on the team wrote up a guide on what the components are needed for. Like what is the consequence of turning off "crypto token" - No DRM/HDCP playback? And is Hangouts actually needed to use Google Hangouts in the browser, or is it just a "helper" extension? What happens if we disable Webstore - no Extension installs and updates?
Probably intervenes at a lower level than
vivaldi://components
and overrides whatever settings/components/upcoming components are being set/loaded by default, that's my guess, but a more professional answer is -I agree- more important than amateur me -
Wow! What an update! Nice work.
For your information, I noticed a small change while using PiP on Windows 10 (64bits).
Instead of having the icons stacked on the taskbar, a second Vivaldi icon is created (see pictures below).
Not really a bug and I can of course live with it but I don't know if the team changed something on purpose. I didn't notice that behavior with previous Snapshots (and in the Stable version, the icons are stacked by default).Latest Snapshot : 3.5.2088.7 (64 bits)
Latest Stable : 3.4.2066.86 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
I watched an incredible video on Stable... did you notice?

Grumble, whine, moan...
-
VB-72721 seems to have resolved itself with this snapshot aswell.
-
Uh oh. Something's gone wrong here, in this Snapshot [Stable remains good].
I also verified this problem in my Test profile, with all Hooks disabled.
The last two continue to work correctly. The first two are broken now - they both behave as if they were
As Last Tab
.Anyone?
-
@Steffie Same for me (I have "After Active Tab" selected but the new tabs open as last tab).
-
@Ornorm Ta for confirming / reproducing.

@TsunamiZ Yeah, reminders like this, which you seem to routinely do now, always goes down well.

while vivaldia is a hot new game release, and you guys are trying to attract gamers and power users, be sure to implement VB-73741...

edit: There seems to be an old experiment: »Button to generate a QR code for the current page«
Forgot about it : | -
why spotify Web Player problem did not solve???
I guess is related to DRM codecs. Harder to fix those. Vivaldi team need cooperation from spotify ~ and this will be easier if Vivaldi Users continue to "nag" the service for that.

I noticed a slight inconsistency between the “panel bar button menu” and the “speed dial button menu.” While the former has an “open in” menu item that expands and gives the options to open in “new tab”, “new window”, &c., the latter has all the “open in” options in the first layer. Personally I prefer the panel bar button approach, but that’s a matter of taste. I think they shouldn’t be different though.
-
@luetage It was already present in the previous snapshot. You even commented on it.
-
@AltCode damn, lol ^^
-
Opening tab after the active one, does not work. Every new tab opens after the last one. Also opening multiple tabs at once, places the tabs in reverse (comparing to the previous versions) order. In general, something is wrong with tab handling.

VB-73097 finally

@nutcracker If only someone had already posted this, including the bug report#, in this thread... :smiling_face_with_open_mouth:

@steffie: Sadly I read your report AFTER my post and I'm deeply sorry for that. I didn't mean to take any credit. I admit you were the first to notice the bug. I assure you that never again I'll make the same mistake. Also, please do not take into account my poor use of the language. After all, I'm a foreigner.
