How to customize menus in Vivaldi browser
@18green Right. Unable to reproduce.
- Right-click New Folder and Rename it
- Right-click on the new folder, New Link
- Paste URL, Enter
- Rename menu
Despite it being a little while now since we gained the capability to customise actual web page context menus, a total failure of my imagination til now meant i never bothered to try. This morning i chose to fiddle, & so i made some deletions & additions, during which i discovered the following.
I use vertical tabs. This is my context menu when i right-click on a tab in the tabs column:
This is ditto from the actual page itself:
Is this a bug, or merely an endearing & charming quirky idiosyncrasy, that despite my tabs being vertical, the page context menu thinks/implies they're horizontal?

Same here, there are definitely some items I never use...

Well, technically all tabs are horizontal :face_savouring_delicious_food:
@guigirl Is it the case that "Close the Tabs Above/Below" were manually renamed by you? As far as I know, once a context command text is renamed, it loses the ability to be context dependent (I reported this as VB-74561 but it still has yet to be confirmed until now...), so I doubt it would show "Close the Tabs Below" if you added an emoji in front.
You're probably correct that the default command is not context (tab bar position) dependent, but even if it were, the problem I mentioned above regarding renaming menu items making context command text no longer context dependent would still cause a similar issue if the user puts an emoji in front and frequently changes the position of their tab bar.
@valiowk Thank you!
Ack, every day, in every way, i make more & more dumb errors.
I had completely forgotten that i could rename them, blush. That's indeed what i did yonks ago for the tabs column, after which it seems i forgot all about it, AND lost all ability to read the options in Settings.
I'd like to be able to reopen an existing, active standard tab in my Default [or really, any other] profile, merely by right-clicking either on that page, or its address field, or even its tab, & select option
(re)open page in Private Window. Unfortunately i can't find such an option in Settings - Appearance - Menu Customisation.
Is it not there, or am i overlooking it? The closest i can find, per two pics following, don't achieve my objective [ie, atm to get the subject page loaded into a PW requires some/several more mouse movements & clicks, selections, pastes].
