sites won't work
-
certain sites, like netacad.com and badgerlink.dpi.wi.gov, refuse to load certain things, my teachers says they recommend to use those sites from chrome, isn't this browser chromium based?
-
@RjGunner111 Could be a user agent issue,it works in firefox ok.
-
what's a user agent?
-
@RjGunner111 What specifically "refuses to load"?
-
@Pathduck when i am about to take exams for netacad, it says "You may have been idle on the current page for too long. Refresh the page to reset the session." then when i try to launch a class' module for a class, it brings me back where i start, then when i do the same action, it gives me "Please log into your class before accessing this course." then for the badgerlink, when i try to login, it gives me a white page that's totally blank and text says "Error: DATAID and TERM parameters are both missing or empty. One is required. Please contact Auto-Graphics technical support for assistance." which makes no sense because if vivaldi's based off chromium, it shouldn't be giving me a hard time like this
-
@RjGunner111 The most likely is those sites rely on some sort of third party content, make sure you allow all cookies on them, no content-blocking. You can use Site settings to only enable these on those 2 sites, and not open up everything.
-
@flo78 third party cookies are enabled
-
@RjGunner111 not in Private mode are you? There's a bug with 3rd party cookies just now.
-
@RjGunner111 Since these services rely on logins, it will be very hard for others to figure out what's going wrong on your system.
I did successfully login to the Badgerlink site using a WI zip 53002, no error messge, but no idea where to go from there.
Please go through the steps of the troubleshooting guide:
https://help.vivaldi.com/article/troubleshooting-issues/ -
@RjGunner111 , do you happen to have ad blocking or tracker blocking enabled on the site. My experience is that if a site has problems, it is quite often related to a tracker or ad blocker. Another option is third party cookies. If you happen to have disabled third party cookies, it will likely impact some sites.
One thing you can try to test this quickly is to install a standalone version of Vivaldi and try it as a fresh install.
-
i have an ad blocker, but when i tried disabling it, it still didn't fix the problem, same thing with re-enabling third party cookies since it already was enabled when i was having this problem
-
@RjGunner111 Check the URL (copy/paste it):
chrome://settings/cookies
and make sure Accept all cookies is selected.Did you try the steps in the troubleshooting guide, including testing in a clean profile?
-
@Pathduck it works now! thank you
-
@RjGunner111 And what was the fix? It would help others to know.
-
@Pathduck copy/pasting chrome://settings/cookies and accepting all cookies
-
@Gwen-Dragon not really, it fixed the problem when i enabled all cookies using chrome settings
-
@RjGunner111 that problem is back, and all cookies were allowed still
