Speed dial not working

  • I cannot figure out how to add websites to the speed dial. i click on the + sign, fill in a web address but nothing happens. i also cannot drag a website from the history. i have used opera since version 2 so I know how it works in 30+. Also i cannot drag links to the personal bar. I was hoping for a replay of opera 12 function but i guess it is still beta. I am using 64bit linux and windows with same problems. any suggestions?

Well, if you add one from SD clicking in the + sign you should click Add after adding the address.

In Vivaldi SD is just a folder in your bookmarks instead of a special identity so if you want to add from the bookmarks manager you just move the bookmark to the SD folder. When adding a new bookmark from the button in the address bar you can also just choose the SD folder.

Well, if you add one from SD clicking in the + sign you should click Add after adding the address.

On Linux Mint 17.3 (Cinnamon desktop) with Vivaldi 1.0.380.2 (Developer Build) dev (64-bit) the Add button is not working, if you only paste a URL into the respective field. To make it work you have to enter at least one key stroke into the field (for instance a blank) which can be deleted instantly again.

Edit: By the way it is the same on Windows 8.1 with Vivaldi 1.0.380.2 (Developer Build) (32-bit).

  • Not working for me on Windows 10 either.
It can be hit or miss getting a site onto speed dial, but then if I close the browser they're gone when I reopen

You guys need to get updated to AT LEAST Vivaldi 1.0.403.20 and then report again.

  • It's working for me on Windows 10 x64 and Version 1.0.403.24 (Beta 3) (32-Bit) but its somewhat stupid to use.
You have to create a folder in bookmarks and mark it for SpeedDial in its properties.
Then you simply move or create bookmarks there and they will be displayed in SpeedDial.

That could be improved but then its working perfectly.

  • Same here, totally frustrating.
