Lots of fixes and a minor Chromium bump – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2080.3
-
@AV1 ...
-
@AV1 @npro this is an issue, and the developers are aware of it. Just this afternoon there was discussion about blinking issues taking place in the vivaldi discord channel - so the bug is on the radar.
So we don't need to get too tense over this.
-
@AV1 He was being entirely ironic, you know. He was playing to our longterm flippant trope in these new snapshot threads. Breathe...

@npro Maybe I should write a script which lets me @ everyone on the forum
-
@Steffie why don't you do it the Windoze way?
- download .deb
- double-click to open with Ark
- double-click data.tar.xz
- drag-drop opt to the desktop
- open opt folder, then vivaldi-snapshot folder
- double-click vivaldi
- enjoy
/edit: disclaimer: personally I use single-click but wanted to stay true to the Windoze way
-
@Steffie yeah a bit dry this week, olli is keeping all the good stuff for himself :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:
P.S. There's always lamarca to call but I can't find him lately...
-
@npro You forgot all the steps where you have to tell windows that it's OK to trust the file you just downloaded.
-
@LonM she's using Linux she doesn't need that
-
@npro Now she doesn't even have to do it the Windoze way. Arrived to
herecura
already. -

testing, testing, 123...

@npro There is also a snapshot install script for Linux users on any distro (That is also linked above in the main blog post). It even handles upgrades if you used it previously.
-
@Ruarí hell no I'll touch that thing
/edit: But I think I'll install Slackware instead, it's been some... decades
-
@npro Slacko !
Giggling again.

[Keyboard] Single key shortcuts leads to changing tab on some input fields (VB-72174)
This seem the same bug I filed as VB-72608, and it's indeed working now, I can enter a text on a search field, and backspace or Z (and any other single key) work again, without having to press Tab before. Nice.
-
@Ruarí while the first part is true , I appreciate the second
/edit: why can't we have this picture as the replacement for the cool emoticon in this place? Default is just un-cool cool if you know what I mean . I think I'll start a petition!

[Address bar] Editing URL removes slash from path (VB-71838)
Brilliant!
Except... now you're stripping the trailing slash when typed in or selected from the drop-down :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:
Oh well
-
Oh dear.
