@zalex108 Well, if you have an extension not syncing, you should task the extension creator.
-

I would check in the Future. -

-
The best idea for backing up Vivaldi is to backup the whole profile.
-
@Streptococcus Depends on OS which is important to get a backup.
-
Sure,
Anyway, you may need to export small/individual things like Flags, WebPanels or some other. Here can be find where they are located.
-
@Zalex108 Thanks for making and updating this guide as always
Just a couple corrections, since you mentioned me:
-
Password import flag is no longer missing from flags and can be enabled without the
temporary-unexpire
-
Password export is now available in V settings where you manage passwords so no need to go into Chromium settings.
-
Internal URLs are case-sensitive so
Chrome://Settings/Passwords
won't work. It needs to bechrome://settings/passwords
. IMO best to change all of them to lower-case for consistency. -
vivaldi://flags
is a valid internal URL so no need to usechrome://flags

@Zalex108 Search engines backup is not deprecated, it works fine. But nowadays Vivaldi should sync the engines, theoretically.

Suggestion to a crude but effective complete program incl. settings backup for standalone installations that can be run once every day before shutting down pc.
"VivaldiBackup.bat"
It saves complete Vivaldi-folder, adds new folder in backup location every time (only manual action is to rename [VivaldiSnapsOld-] to [VivaldiSnapsOld-(x+1)]
where -x- is previous highest backup)"pause-" command can be deleted, only as a reminder to "remeber" to add "(x+1)" after completion.
- Change this to choice location: X:\CONTAINER4\VIVALDIs\ROBOCOPY
- Must be changed to mirror your Vivaldi installation location: "C:\Users\CHANGE-TO-YOUR-DIRECTORY\AppData\Local\VivaldiSnaps"
- When finished, give new number to last backup in series: [VivaldiSnapsOld-(x+1)]
- Copy all below with your changed locations to a notepad-file, give extension ".bat" so it can be executed:
=============>
START %windir%\explorer.exe "X:\CONTAINER4\VIVALDIs\ROBOCOPY" echo Next step is Moving files from previous backup [VivaldiSnaps] to newly created dir [VivaldiSnaps1] REM Note:With pause command, must press any key to continue REM Only manual action is to give a new, higher number to [VivaldiSnapsOld-] ie. [VivaldiSnapsOld-(x)+1] pause MOVE "X:\CONTAINER4\VIVALDIs\ROBOCOPY\VivaldiSnaps" "X:\CONTAINER4\VIVALDIs\ROBOCOPY\VivaldiSnaps1" pause echo Renaming [VivaldiSnaps1] to [VivaldiSnapsOld-] pause REN X:\CONTAINER4\VIVALDIs\ROBOCOPY\VivaldiSnaps1 VivaldiSnapsOld- pause DEL "X:\CONTAINER4\VIVALDIs\ROBOCOPY\VivaldiSnaps" echo Now RoboCopy'ing: Creates new [VivaldiSnaps] ROBOCOPY "C:\Users\CHANGE-TO-YOUR-DIRECTORY\AppData\Local\VivaldiSnaps" "X:\CONTAINER4\VIVALDIs\ROBOCOPY\VivaldiSnaps" /MIR pause echo Remember to apply new, higher (=more recent) number on file [VivaldiSnapsOld-x] pause
