Where is Mail Icon in the left panel?

  • I was surprised to see that the mail icon in the left panel was disappeared. But in a way I expected. I started using this browser because it was said it was very customizable. I thought it was customizable as Opera 12 (like personalized buttons)... but it is currently configurable almost like Opera 35. But mainly I started using it, while waiting for integrated mail... and with the beta version has even gone the icon from the left panel. I hope soon the email be integrated to make a real difference with Opera and other browsers.

  • As it says on the Team Blog:

    Panel hiding

Don't need a panel and want to gain some space on the panel bar. Simply right click on the panel bar and untick those you wish to hide.

Since the Mail and Contacts panels are not ready yet, they are automatically hidden. They will return when the mail client is ready. From the screen shot in the blog, you can see that the devs already have a mail panel.

  • Thanks!
    I can still hope :)

  • Having the 'mail coming soon' probably made sense when Vivaldi was introduced in the tech previews. As Vivaldi reaches a 1.0 release, maybe they thought it was unnecessary or not as user friendly to show stuff that was incomplete.

  • So many things I loved in opera are back. A highlite for me is having back tabs on the right (nice made also!) and toggle to the last active button by clicking the active one. Meanwhile I forgot a lot of routines I used have in Opera :I

What I still really miss is the mail integration. When will it come? It was a killer argument for many friends, and I will make them change to vivaldi once its implemented…

THANKS FOR BRINGING VIVALDI IN MY LIFE. I really appreciate it!

As an Opera user, you will understand that it will be available W.I.R. :woohoo:

The mail and contacts icons in the left panel were removed when mail turned out to be a longer, more difficult project than projected. Jon has said mail will com in the next version after the first stable. I suspect we will see the reappearance of the mail and contacts icons in the same snapshot that first incorporates a test version of email.
