Open Link in New Tab -> Becomes active Tab
standforce last edited by
I know, this is not a Bug. But when I am looking for News or something else and try to open New Tabs with the News I want to read, Vivaldi always makes the new Tab the active one. When I am opening 6-9 Tabs with different News, it bugs me that i always have to get back to that first Tab. It is not very important but the only thing bugging me. Thanks. ps. If there is a setting I did not see, excuse me

You can open a link in a background tab via using the middle button of the mouse. A right click on a link opens a context menu with the alternative to open the link in a background tab. A setting to always open links in background tabs unfortunately I don't know.

I know this is old, but I am new.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this!
I was getting really frustrating with the the redirected focus to new tabs. I needed them to wait for me to read them and not to steal focus.

@rie Thank you for searching before posting. Not many new users do.
Ctrl+Click, or a mouse gesture over a link can also be used. I use GestureDown for this, which also does scroll to bottom of page if not over a link.
