URL text is no longer highlighted after opening a new tab
-
I set a custom page as my homepage and new tab page, for example https://www.google.com
Normally in previous versions when I open a new tab, the url bar is focused and the text is already selected, so I can immediately type in a new web address or search for something, it's like this:
But after I installed version 3.3 and currently snapshot 2038.4, the url bar is still in focus after opening a tab but the text is no longer highlighted, so I have to select all the text myself again and delete it before I can start typing.
It's not something big but still annoying.

@saphira209 I cannot reproduce the problem. If I set google.com as my start page, the URL is selected on opening a new tab.

I see the same thing as @Pesala, have you tested in a clean/new profile?
-
@Pesala It seems like the Show Full Address in Address Bar Options is causing the problem for me. If I turn that off then the URL is selected again on new tab opening. It happens when the option is checked.

@saphira209 Confirmed here.

@Pesala Thank you, I'll report it now.

@Pesala It doesn't change it for my browser? It still wont select the text automatically.

Hello,
I have a similar problem. When I try to open a new page (I've set blank page in settings) it sometimes opens without any text in address bar and sometimes there's "about:blank" there but never highlighted so when I try to google up something quickly it looks like "about:blanksearch_phrase".
As someone before mentioned, it's not too big of a problem, it's just really inconvenient that I have to remember about it every single time I open a new tab.
