SEVERE Screen Tearing on Manjaro XFCE
-
Hey guys, so im using Vivaldi on Manjaro XFCE v20.1 with a Nvidia gpu installed and I notice after waking the computer from sleep mode, the computer suddenly starts to have this massive amount of screen tearing within Vivaldi. I'm currently using Vivaldi v3.3.2022.45 and I installed the browser from the herecura repos. Does anyone know how I can possibly fix this?

Hi, some user report glitches and change setting for Vsync can help.
There is a setting for it in nvidia-settings or you can try to start Vivaldi with –disable-gpu-vsync from a terminal. one report to add --disable-software-rasterizer, too.Cheers, mib

@NovaViper FYI according to your info you don't have a Nvidia GPU but an integrated Intel GPU. Try mib2berlin's suggestion or disabling hardware acceleration in your Vivaldi settings, as reported in similar threads like: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/50724/v3-3-rendering-gui-issues/

@npro @mib2berlin Facepalm I just noticed I posted the specs for my laptop, not my desktop <_>

@NovaViper
Good but I have GTX 760 with the same driver and I use HW acceleration.
May you check VSync setting if you need HW acc., I use the default setting.Cheers, mib

There's no setting for configuring VSync on my settings tab in the Nvidia settings, if there's a setting for it, it's most likely all stock for me
