Hi, I have a little problem and I don't know if it happens in all operating systems, I'm only using Linux Mint 20 Mate, because it turns out that I'm downloading files from WeTransfer, well I don't download them as such, I just give it to download when I start the download I cancel it and copy the download link and paste it in my video player and it plays as if it were a streaming video.
This was done with other browsers but trying Vivaldi from RC1 when copying the link from the download panel does not copy the full link
This is the test link: https://we.tl/t-YBkcM2FIUA
when downloading from other browsers such as Google Chrome this is the link I am allowed to copy:But when downloading from Vivaldi this is the link that allows me to copy:
https://wetransfer.com/downloads/96cdc09e2cdff8c7ee03db52f76a1c4920200905021348/5f4089
is very short but missing more content and obviously when I paste it into my player does not play the video
then I have to open each time or keep open a tab with vivaldi://downloads to be able to copy the whole download link but it is very annoying when I should use the floating panel.
Please if someone can confirm this error, in other operating system and other versions of Vivaldi and if it is a problem it could be solved? so you don't have to depend on always opening vivaldi://downloads and be able to do it from the comfort of the floating panel
Sorry for the translation, English is not my mother tongue.

@Ruarí I was viewing a YouTube video, but it is not happening now. I have two monitors, video is playing on my landscape secondary monitor. The PiP window opens on the Primary portrait monitor.
The pause/play button disappears too quickly to get the right-click menu.
-
@Pathduck But I have been known to unicycle off road and am not embarrassed about that

unicycle off road
Strikes me as a needlessly hazardous pastime.
-
@jesusrivas89: I see the problem and yes we need to fix that. It is not a regression from 3.2 stable however
-

A new user would not need to do this. The introduction shows by default (until disabled) so for a new user they have a chance to reassign, right form the get go.
-
@ayespy: It is great fun. You should try it
-
@Ruarí I absolutely should not. I would split my skull open within minutes (or seconds) of taking it on.
-
@Ruarí That’s great, I always do a search when a new shortcut is being introduced. Makes it easier. But it also somewhat detaches the user from settings. Wouldn’t it be more educational to provide a link that opens the settings at the correct position to change the shortcut?

@Ruarí 158 years ago, as a mech eng undergrad first-year, we first learned of "unstable equilibrium". The practical examples back then were so boring... stuff like balancing a knife on its point, spoon on its dished-end, knitting needle on its point, etc. We should instead have used your hobby. Mind you, you have a distinct advantage over those static examples - you have dynamic forces working in your favour, including gyroscopic precession... as long as you maintain a certain minimum velocity.

[Break mode] Add pause/unpause animation (VB-71341)
There is no need to do this animation, I object.
Just switch directly, break mode is to make my eyes leave the screen as soon as possible and return to the real world.
Motion effect is hindering this process, it makes this process transition, but we need to switch between the Internet and the real world immediately.

@Ruarí I'm sorry to say it but the address bar fix might've had some other consequence.
For one thing, if the user focuses the address bar while page is loading (for instance in a slow connection), the page will steal back focus once its finished loaded. Might be a side-effect of the fix?
I'm also seeing this:
This is me trying Backspace over and over again, then trying some select+Del. Not sure exactly how to reproduce at the moment, something about typing in a new URL in the address bar while the page is loading.
EDIT: Reported as VB-71391.

@jesusrivas89 I can confirm this happening for that download site (on Windows). The download link copied in Firefox/Opera is a direct link to the mp4 file as it should be.
However, this issue is not specifically related to this Snapshot thread as it also happens in the latest Stable release. It's likely been like this for some time and should be reported properly to have a chance to be fixed.
Please report the bug here:

[BUG?] custom private theme is not applied to preferences
try this:
choose DARK as private theme (instead of default blue)
start Vivaldi in private mode (Vivaldi --incognito)
press ALT+P to open the preferences' window
you should see it white, instead of with the dark themeAnyone confirms?
PLEASE NOTICE: private and non private themes must be different, to see the bug (e.g: DARK, for private mode and VIVALDI, for normal mode)

Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Since sometime after 3.2, my snapshot screens were all staticy (similar to old television static.) I have seen these anomalies in earlier versions, mainly in the tabs where a quick swipe of the mouse would clean it up (almost like dusting them off!) This time it was affecting every snapshot window as well as tab and there was bleed through from prior opened tab frames.
Your latest update fixed all of that. I had updated my GPU drivers and I was ready to move my saved sessions and bookmarks to stable, and even finally update my OS, but it's not necessary now!
I cannot find the bug list to see what it was exactly, but one of your fixes resolved my issue.
So thank you again.
As a matter of fact, here, take my spare emoticon unicycle:

Another couple I think started with this release:
-
Download dialog is no longer focused after triggering a download. Reported as VB-71405.
-
Cancelled download dialog does not reset address bar when domain is changed. Reported as VB-71407.
Actually after reporting the second one I realised it's also present in Stable, oh well. Should be fixed though, the way other browsers (Including Chromium) handle this is to not update the address bar when clicking a direct download link.

had the same error and it was really confusing. I wanted to delete the www but backspace took me always to the end of the adress
a showstopper IMO

Does anyone know why the new startpage thumbnail looks like the Windows logo, or better: what was wrong with the old one?
