Vivaldi Opens New Instances
-
Vivaldi opens new instances whenever I double-click the icon or when I click it from its position pinned in the Windows task bar. All I want it to do is, if it is already open, go to that instance. How do I do this?
-
@lenbabin mouse settings might need checking..clicking for example.
-
@lenbabin Double-click does nothing here. Hovering the icon shows the open windows, and I can choose whichever one I want to view.
Right-click on the taskbar to check your Windows Taskbar settings.

Fair enough. But for example, when I have Firefox or Outlook open and I click the icon, it takes me to the open program. Why does Vivaldi act differently?
-
@lenbabin If I have only one Vivaldi window open, then clicking on the taskbar icon focuses that window, just like most programs. However, if I have two or more Windows open I should be able to choose which one I wish to focus.
Double-clicking does nothing if two windows are open, with only one window it just registers as two clicks = show/hide, or hide/show Vivaldi.

@lenbabin Right-click Vivaldi in the task bar and choose "Unpin from taskbar". Now open Vivaldi and right-click on the new Vivaldi icon in the task bar (the one from your open Vivaldi window) and choose "Pin". It should now behave as you expect.

@Komposten Thats a winner! Many thanks. Am liking this browser, just going through the learning curve.
