Web Site Issue {USA Today/other sites from Gannett Newspapers}
-
This is certainly no big deal, but I'm wondering why it's suddenly become impossible for me to access the USA Today web site.
The problem occurs whether I'm trying directly by Vivaldi or attempting to get there via a link on another site or Facebook. The browser attempts to make the connection but cannot do so.
I've checked my settings and don't see anything that would cause this to occur.

@KenDixon It is a known issue. There are several previous threads on the topic.

Thank you. It's such an odd issue that I never thought about someone else having the problem.

There's a workaround (temporary solution) posted by @claudio over here:
-
@Gwen-Dragon It is, if left disabled globally. Educated user would switch it off, consume the news at the misbehaving site (and have no other sites in other tabs open at the same time), then switch it on again. This, of course, assuming their appetite for news is such that it can't be satisfied at other news sources
I didn't want to judge, merely point to a thread where the issue was being discussed. Good to know it's been fixed in Snapshot and will benefit us Stable version users soon

Unlikely or impossible.
The warning on the flags page (written by the developers, not by me) says that dangers can come when flags are turned on, not when they are disabled.
Chrome, Chromium, and Vivaldi are three different browsers as I've already explained here
The only member of the Vivaldi Team to have commented this flag thanked nafumofu very much for providing this information.
I don't go to this forum to waste my time hurting other people but just the opposite.Educated user would switch it off, consume the news at the misbehaving site (and have no other sites in other tabs open at the same time), then switch it on again. Exactly.

Finally...

@Gwen-Dragon
not needed in 3.3 Snapshot version. And i hope...
...that a launchable 3.3.2009.3 will be rushed out asap.
https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/390739
Until then, this site remains off-limits to me, coz i am not going to disable that flag, but the latest Snapshot refuses to launch in 100% of my Linuxes, so i am stuck on 3.3.2001.3.

Vivaldi 3.3 Has been released, which should fix this issue
