Vivaldi 3.2 RC 1 – Vivaldi Desktop Browser snapshot 1967.38
-
I know that previously we have offered stable stream versions of the same builds (e.g. for the previous RCs for 3.1) but these builds have not been made yet. I will likely update the blog with them tomorrow, assuming no major issues.

@chas4: Flags are experiments anyway. No interest in this right now but thanks for the report anyway.

I am finding this version more unstable on Windows. The last version and this version will go to a page and show the page as white. This version does the same and crashes. When the browser loads back up the page appears.
I can duplicate the crash:
Go to: https://www.fark.com/
Scroll down to the article: COVID-19 is killing a Texan every 6 minutes, 16 seconds or about how long it takes the average Texan to read this article and click on the link.
Blank page.
Change URL and remove the fark code on the end of the URL and hit enter and browser crashes. The crash doesn't happen everytime.I use ublock origin extension.

@floweringmind: Just tested the same build here on macOS and see no such issue.
-
tested linux now as well, no issue
-
@floweringmind: Could you capture a crash log and sumbit it as a bug report?
https://help.vivaldi.com/article/reporting-crashes-on-windows/
-
@floweringmind: Hmm, worked fine here (no blank page and no crash).

Hi,
I was hoping that this snapshot might possibly correct the issue with this page not loading : https://www.clarionledger.com . It's already been reported by other user's as well, but nothing has changed, I really wish that I knew where the actual source of the issue was, but I still haven't given up hoping of a fix someday.

@davy49: Loads fine here.
Win10x64 Vx64
-
@davy49: when did this page stop loading for you (from which snapshot did you start having issues)? What Operating system are you on (including version)? Are you using the ad or tracker blocker?
-
@floweringmind: No blank page or crash here. Also using µBlock Origin. Windows 10 x64.
-
@davy49: Loads fine here too.
Win10 64Bit, Vivaldi 64Bit, µBlock Origin -
Loads just fine here.32bit puppy linux.

Is the domain highlighting removed in this build?
-
@saudiqbal Read the blog:
- [Address bar] Revert – Show clickable element of URL as links: causes various issues, will re-enable in a future snapshot (VB-23693)

This is great guys, tabs are now to the edge of the screen, i guess that's from 3.2 now, thanks.
White abstract soft background now make sence for speed dial.
Maybe i will now retire FF browser and use of bookmarks bar, it was getting slow in benchmarks.
Your translation for Slovenian lang. is great, can't find any mistakes.
Waiting for 3.2 final and deployment on Ubuntu. -
i would just like to add that this browser has been absolutely superb here on my linux computer.I am very impressed and i send thanks to developers.
Would it be advisable to download and install this RC1 or would it be more prudent to wait until it is a final/stable build.?
-
@Priest72 If you're a technical sort and like to figure stuff out and don't mind if stuff sometimes break, by all means use the snapshots as your go-to version. From your cute BSD mascot I assume you are
I also have a mostly clean standalone install just to test bugs reported in Stable builds. You can mix and match standalone installs as they all have their own data dirs.

@Priest72
Hi, if you want to follow the "Snapshot" route you can install the RC build.
If you want Stable you have to wait.
On Linux you can you can run both totally independent, I have both installed but use the Snapshot for daily use and the Stable for testing.
There was a blog post about the difference of Stable and Snapshot but can find it at moment.
I would call it Beta but it seams all use there own names for it these days.Cheers, mib

@Priest72 Exactly what @Pathduck said .
Also the difference @mib2berlin is talking about is this https://vivaldi.com/blog/snapshot-vs-stable/
