Vivaldi 3.2 RC 1 – Vivaldi Desktop Browser snapshot 1967.38

@Priest72 If you're a technical sort and like to figure stuff out and don't mind if stuff sometimes break, by all means use the snapshots as your go-to version. From your cute BSD mascot I assume you are
I also have a mostly clean standalone install just to test bugs reported in Stable builds. You can mix and match standalone installs as they all have their own data dirs.

@Priest72
Hi, if you want to follow the "Snapshot" route you can install the RC build.
If you want Stable you have to wait.
On Linux you can you can run both totally independent, I have both installed but use the Snapshot for daily use and the Stable for testing.
There was a blog post about the difference of Stable and Snapshot but can find it at moment.
I would call it Beta but it seams all use there own names for it these days.Cheers, mib

@Priest72 Exactly what @Pathduck said .
Also the difference @mib2berlin is talking about is this https://vivaldi.com/blog/snapshot-vs-stable/ -
Thank you kindly for the replies..me being a cautious sort i will hang in there and await a stable version..this browser is just fantastic and works great..big thumbs up to the developers.

Can’t input addresses in autofill (VB-68596)
Oooh, that one's mine!
-
Do you receive my answer about how I fixed the VB-70129 bug I reported?
-
@airdex We did. Glad you got it sorted out.
-
@Davy49 Fwiw, also does not load for me, in Stable
3.1.1929.45
and Snapshot3.2.1967.38
. In the latter, i tested with my normal profile [=Vivaldi full blocker on, uMatrix & Privacy Badger enabled] AND also in its Test user account [V blocking fully off, uM & PB not installed]. I have never heard of / visited this site before, so have no idea if older V versions worked with it or not. They sure do not work for it now though, for me. -
@Davy49 said in Vivaldi 3.2 RC 1 – Vivaldi Desktop Browser snapshot 1967.38:
I was hoping that this snapshot might possibly correct the issue with this page not loading : https://www.clarionledger.com . ... I really wish that I knew where the actual source of the issue was
This seems to be the same "problem" as usatoday ; however, this "Clarion" site does not have different U.S. and E.U. versions! Maybe that will help with "bug fixing"??
-
@Steffie Clarion Ledger is a Gannett newspaper, and it's the Gannett sites that have this problem. Not fixed, yet.

In the previous Snapshot's comments i posted that the PiP controls were still unusable for me. I am delighted to confirm that this Snapshot seems to have completely solved that -- today's tests resulted in 0% failures when muting, pausing & restoring in the PiP window. Thanks.

Added now
-
@mib2berlin: Now you don't have to wait. I have added the stable stream versions of this build to the blog post as alternative download options
-
@ruarí: Thanks, I'm more used to the red Icon Btw, I can't see any regressions in this build compared to 3.1. Used it the whole day yesterday and this morning.
-
Is this URL-Cropping "preview" removed in this build again?
See https://vivaldi.com/de/blog/snapshots/desktop/easier-url-cropping-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-1967-30/
Because I can't see anything happen, when I hover over the URL with CTRL pressed. -
@colebantam Ooh good point - ditto here.
-
@Steffie @colebantam It's in the changelog:
[Address bar] Revert – Show clickable element of URL as links: causes various issues, will re-enable in a future snapshot (VB-23693)
-
@altcode: Thanks
-
@AltCode Blush. Thanks. Whoops.
