CalDAV & CardDAV are out 🎉
-
Dear Vivaldians,
We’re super happy to announce that your calendar on webmail.vivaldi.net can be imported to our CalDAV servers. You can sync them to your phone and other calendar clients.
The following help pages share the details on how to go about it:
Please let us know how everything is working out for you.
Looking forward to your feedback. -
@Gaëlle So, what happens on July 17th? 🥴
I tried logging in, didn't get a prompt to import. Maybe I need to click Calendar first, but it gives the error:
Failed request: webmail.vivaldi.net/?_task=calendar -
@Pathduck thanks for trying and sorry for the trouble. I just shared it internally and will update you as soon as I hear back from the dev team.
-
Another couple of error with the Larry theme:
New calendar:
Failed request: webmail.vivaldi.net/?_task=calendar&action=form-new&c%5Bid%5D=&_framed=1&_action=calendar
Edit calendar:
Failed request: webmail.vivaldi.net/?_task=calendar&action=form-edit&c%5Bid%5D=787&_framed=1&_action=calendar
ED: Works now!

Seems to work OK for me. No errors though it take an unseemingly long time to save. (Could be my ISP.) I have few items to enter though...
A couple of things do pop out though:-
how to change to North American Week (Mon -> Sun)
-
can I import and sync my Outlook Calendar? That's where I keep everything at present.
-
UI - Icons for Import and export seem to reversed(?) maybe.
It would seem to me that import would have the arrow coming into the Calendar and export would have the arrow going out of the Calendar
[EDIT] Corrected for fat fingers typo.

how to change to North American Week (Mon -> Sun)
From Settings > Preferences > Calendar > First weekday
can I import and sync my Outlook Calendar? That's where I keep everything at present.
You can sync your Vivaldi calendar using CalDAV and view the events in the Outlook client. I suppose you could also import your Outlook events into Vivaldi calendar and then sync using CalDAV with the Outlook (or any other) client.
Currently it's not possible to use Vivaldi as a calendar client, but it's being worked on.UI - Icons for Import and export seem to reversed(?) maybe.
It's the same with the new theme. My guess is that the theme developers logic is Import = UPload and Export = DOWNload. But I could be wrong.

@jane-n Many Thanks for the quick reply.
Cheers -
Great, works well and flawless. No problems in PC nor in Android.

The web view looks nice, better than the one of nextcloud actually.
Some things that I stumbled upon:
- login on android (davx5) is possible with both
jumpsq
and[email protected]
for me, butjumpsq
does not have my calendar - creating new calendars in davx5 / via API does not seem to be possible
- creating tasks for calendars does not seem to be possible
- login on android (davx5) is possible with both
-
@jumpsq Thanks for your feedback and sorry for the trouble.
- about the login on android, please file a bug report on vivaldi.com/bugreport so we get more details about your setup and understand what is going on.
- it depends on the calendar client indeed. Which link have you used? If possible, try using
https://calendar.vivaldi.net/calendars/
which is more generic. - tasks are currently not supported.
Thanks in advance for your help
