Can You Play This File?
-
What happens when you click the Play button on the linked site? When I click, the arrow turns into a Pause button, but there is no movement let alone sound. I can't swear to this but I think it happens only with New Yorker files, and not every time. The only diagnostic I've done is to refresh the tab. I'm using 3.1.1929.45 (Stable channel) (64-bit). Thanks.

@mitchnf I see a message to:
To hear more, download Audm for iPhone or Android.
-
@Pesala I'm working on an iMac. Besides, I'm almost sure I've been able to play at least some Audm files without downloading anything.
-
@mitchnf Yes, I noticed that. Just reporting what I see. Often, not being able to play audio/video is due to missing codecs.

What version of macOS (do mention that in the bug report also)
Strange that they are embedding a 3rd party audio player on the site https://audm.herokuapp.com/player-embed?pub=newyorker&articleID=5c9a4be8caf1186a4b

@Gwen-Dragon Well, what do you know? It's not operator malfunction (mine) for a change. Thanks for checking; I noted your results in my bug report, which is VB-69668.
@Chas4 I'm using Mojave 10.14.2 on an iMac desktop. I did note that in my bug report.
Thanks to both of you, really appreciate it.

I could not get the audio to play either, but I was able to read the article after I allowed cookies. It is fascinating.
