Is Vivaldi tracking bookmark usage? (edit: no, just a bug)
-
Using Vivaldi on my Android and noticed some strange behaviour. I've got Blockada running in the background (this is a ad-blocking service that runs as a local VPN), and when I tap any of my speed dial bookmarks, I briefly see a "Your connection was interrupted" (See attached screenshot) before the page continues loading. This behaviour is consistent across all bookmarks.
When I disable Blockada however, this screen is never shown and all bookmarks load directly. This leads me to suspect Vivaldi is tracking my usage of bookmarks?

@tuxm I knew that were some issues between some vpns and Vivaldi Mobile. It's more likely is a bug than a tracking.

@Hadden89 if it's a generic issue between Vivaldi mobile and VPNs, I'd expect this would give the same error:
- opening a tab
- typing in
google.com
- pressing go
It doesn't however. There is specific code related to bookmarks involved.

Are these your bookmarks or the ones that came with Vivaldi? The ones that came with V are promotional and therefore tracked (as you can see in the actual addresses), your own should not be.

My own bookmarks. I think @Hadden89 suspicion on a bug being the cause is correct. If I disable all the block lists in Blockada (thus creating a VPN that allows all traffic), I still get the error.
