Are you guys planning to have the regression* with empty extension icons showing for extensions with no icon or meaningful options page fixed before release?
Not a big deal but I now have an empty icon in the (hidden) extensions bar, for a the Spatial Navigation extension which has no options and no icon anyway. It should really not be shown. But I understand that it might be hard to parse an extension to know whether to show an icon or not.
* I know it was caused by the "fix" for VB-60321 but IMO it's a regression because it was fine for me before
-
@Pathduck I have just filed a bug report for this (VB-68442). I don't think it will be fixed in time for release at this late stage though.
-
"[Regression] Dead bird shown without crash on closing" - please focus your feedback on serious regressions since 3.0 stable. This is neither serious nor since 3.0 stable. Just saying.
-
@Pathduck In the meantime...
.button-toolbar.replacemewithyourextensionID {display: none;}
-
@rseiler: It is something we have been meaning to fix for a while and we get a lot of complaints about and we had a fix. Should we not have taken it?
-
@Ruarí Many upvotes, so apparently you should not have.
Awaiting requests to reintroduce dead birds.
-
@hadden89: the problem is that extension icons that should go into address bar are gone (not really gone, just moved to the extensions section)
-
@jacekn That is chromium changed behaviour (not a vivaldi bug at least)

When opening a link in new window (no matter whether private), I cannot close the tab from which I opened it(workaround: pin, unpin). Can someone confirm?Edit: actually it’s opening a window in any way & closing any tab; the workaround doesn’t work for start page tabs.

[Regression] Dead bird shown without crash on closing (VB-63880)
isn't fixed for me, if I have like 20 tabs open and close the window
a) it takes about 5-10 seconds for the window to close (wierd)
b) dead bird is more alive than evertested with a guest profile and same with a fresh new standalone installation
-
@Ruarí I'm always in favor of fixes, I just couldn't help noticing the juxtaposition between what we're always told not to bring up in this phase of testing...and what was brought up with the first listed regression.
-
@rseiler well as you can see above, this bug or its fix not only refers to a dead bird but is tied to a severe regression (5-10 seconds window close delay) so it's definitely not something minor, coincidentally or not
-
How am I supposed to take the supposed fix [Blocker][Themes][Settings] Invisible values in drop-down menu with dark themes (VB-68316) ? It's completely unusable now, a real showstopper and should be listed under known issues instead, no?
-
@npro: Well a start would be to mention it. This is the first comment I cannot locate from you that does so and I cannot find any bug report. Did you log it? If so what is the bug number?
-
@npro: Same for me unfortunately. I'm not seeing the dead bird more often but [subjectively] the window takes longer to close then before.

@gwen-dragon: Thanks for the bug report. It is being looked at now and we will try and get it for the next minor update
-
@Gwen-Dragon @Ruarí Thanks, it was very late and I couldn't do it.
