@idanadar: The workaround is not to use that build on Mac. I made a (stupid) mistake that triggered this.

@potmeklecbohdan
Thanks, will check on my next Windows adventure.
Do you think I should report the + - thingy?Cheers, mib

@Ruarí my issue turned out to be that
SUEnableAutomaticChecks
was set tofalse
. Since quite a few of my apps stopped automatically checking for updates when I upgraded to Mojave, I think this must be the issue with all of them. Not sure how that got toggled in so many apps just from doing an OS upgrade, when most of the apps don't even expose the setting. -
Can't post into the proper thread https://vivaldi.com/blog/snapshots/desktop/vivaldi-3-1-rc-2-desktop/ as it's now closed for comments. Today i belatedly updated my ArchLinux' Snapshot from 1929.19 to 1929.28. When i looked thru the Settings i was unhappy to discover that the box for
Use a Google DNS Service to Help Resolve Navigation Errors
had once again become Enabled [this is at least the second time an update has over-ridden my explicit choice to always leave this Disabled]. Not cool, Vivaldi, not cool. -
@Steffie maybe it's a linux installation bug to be reported, because it's still disabled in all my Windows 7 and Windows 10 PCs, all updated to .28 SS, home PC updated via internal updater, 2 work PCs updated by using the full installer (win7 32bit and win10 64bit)

@Steffie It didn't happen to me yesterday when I updated (belatedly too) from 1929.23 to 1929.28. I'm on macOS Sierra.

@Steffie said in Closing in on 3.1 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1929.21:
ArchLinux' Snapshot from 1929.19 to 1929.28.
Did NOT happen with my upgrade on Linux Mint (or previous ones).
Also never happened on Stable updates (if relevant). Not sure why it happens with your setup.

I just checked another pc [Manjaro Linux]. It also has that box now re-enabled during the update. I'm going to inspect some of my VMs to see what their respective Snapshots did. Quite odd.
BTW, my Arch's Stable is fine; that box remained unticked.
-
@Steffie VM 3.1.1929.28 Snapshots inspected for Google DNS Service status:
- SolydK = unticked.
- Manjaro Stable = unticked, BUT, the Google Service Form Autofill had become ticked, sigh!
- Mint Cinnamon = unticked.
- Fedora Workstation = unticked.
Atm there's too much variability IMO to justify a BR. I'll keep monitoring it over coming updates, for now.
