Configurable menus and full page notes manager – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1921.3

@mossman It was a change in software. Vivaldi was being blocked as being unique so users were deemed to be easily identified and tracked by websites. You landed on a page (not Qwant homepage) with that information, where Qwant suggested you to switch to an updated and more privacy-oriented browser. It was a quasi-ad for Firefox.

@pesala: It is useful for many, myself included. I'm excited for the feature. But with a simple menu layout duplication button it could be even better for some people.
I use 2 layouts: one for work and one for web surfing. The work one looks ugly, but is efficient. The other one looks normal, but it's a pain to use when I'm in a hurry.
Normally, I use the button. I click it, then click File, then Open Tab. (just an example) But for the work layout, I use the horizontal menu, because I can just click File, then Open Tab, with no extra menu button to click beforehand. Even better, I can just comfortably use my keyboard's alt and arrow keys, which are always within reach, knowing that I will always see what I wanna click before clicking it. Something that my normal layout doesn't offer.
I like my menu to be hidden normally, but to be visible when working. And for consistency reasons, I need it to be the same. But right now it's a hassle to change the horizontal menu once, then also change the hidden menu the same way.
Maybe it's just me or I've become spoiled. Anyway, the feature's great already; just not perfect for me in particular. Others may or may not share my opinion, and that's fine.

@hlehyaric I did not know anything at all about this history. What naughty behaviour! Right now, i have just deleted Q from my list of alternative SEs installed. No loss for me - i always found its results poor & its UI ugly & inefficient.
-
@Steffie Of course, you were not using Qwant at this time .

Thanks for the great new feature. Does this also give us control on Right Mouse Click Menu on the page? I want to edit the menu entries of Right Mouse Click.

@neltherion Not yet. Right now just the main menu is changeable. I hope this will extend to context menus as well, but that will take a bit more work from the developers.

It does, but due to a known bug in recent builds one has to press Alt first, then F, to pull down the file menu instead of just Alt+F.

@pesala: thanks

I loved the both features. But one thing: I think the exported notes should have a better saving filename like the capture ones.
