Configurable menus and full page notes manager – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1921.3
-
@dodger Sounds as though some process of Vivaldi may still be open when you are trying this. Check task manager and make sure all Vivaldi processes are closed.
-
@Ayespy I've checked if there are any working processes related to Vivaldi, but this did not help. After a while during the installation process, the message reappears.
-
@Gwen-Dragon I checked the SHA256 checksum - it is exactly the same
-
It will be great if you can add a hook that can make Vivaldi support global KDE menu. So that I can hide the Vivaldi icon and just use the global menu.
-
Notes manager, export - import... it sounds great.
-
Double-click opens the Note Editor only if the note had no URL.
I see no buttons to open the Note Editor.
-
@Gwen-Dragon I hide the navigation bar on the Start Page so I need some other method.
- Middle-click on the Notes Panel Icon would be good
- A button on the Notes Panel Editor would be better
- An item on the note context menu could also be useful to some

Same - I was wondering where this fancy new "notes editor" was hiding
-
@Pesala yes. A number of the panels are missing their middle click functionality. I'm trying to prod that to be fixed. It's annoying for anyone who hides the nav bar.
-
@Ayespy Oh, golly! I didn't know it was called that - ta. Now that you've pointed it out to me i do see the Notes item ... how long has that been there? I really must be as blind as a bat.
-
@Steffie I was referring to editing the commands that appear inside the menu, not the bookmarks that are displayed there. This is what the menu looks like right now:
If I go to Appearance Settings, this is what I get:
I can't edit any of it, with the exception of renaming the menu and its two commands.
-
@luetage: I guess it's safe to say that we're closer now than we were in 2015!
-
@luetage: Yes, I saw it too. But 5 years later Jon talked about it. We are very close...

All that happens for me when i
double-clicking on a note in the Panel
is that the note opens in a standard tab, at its linked url. It is not in any kind of edit mode.
yeah I thought it would be self-explanatory that this works only with self-created notes and not notes linked to a url. You 'd have to use the Nav Bar for those.
-
@AltCode Sorry i still don't understand -- doesn't my picture indicate that i was able to change the items [see the green-boxed ones; they're not there by default].

Well it was not.
-
@Steffie Ah I see. I seem to have misunderstood. It does and it might mean that there's a bug in the mac version.
-
And this snapshot does not work with .mp4 video. Checked for win7Sp1x64 bit. Clean installation, no profile and no extensions.

@AltCode Righteo, cool. I'm glad we now understand each other better, coz i was getting confused how i was seeing what i was seeing
-
@Lavik You could avoid all this if you would read the "Known Issues"
