Default speed dial designs for buttons
-
Hey everyone! It's my first day using Vivaldi as a migrant from Opera, so forgive me if this question has already been answered. I already like Vivaldi way better than Opera, but I was wondering something. Is there a default speed dial button for applications? One of the things I liked aesthetically from Opera was the fact that it came with default buttons when you added a speed dial.

Even when Opera didn't have a preset icon, it at least made an aesthetic looking button with the URL and a base color I noticed that when I first loaded up vivaldi, it already came with default ones for youtube, but it instantly got rid of it when I tried to use the application. I was wondering if there was a way to have these default buttons that Opera has, since there were already defaults for YouTube and Amazon, or if it could be an option to have just the basic colors of the website like Opera set. Just having the webpage loaded in the spot is both an eyesore as well removes a bit of the privacy I want when first loading up my browser in a public area. I know that you can go in and download your own custom presets for each website, but this honestly seems like something that I think a lot of people would love to have pre-loaded onto the browser: three options between having the webpage displayed, being able to upload your custom image, or having a default symbol or color pallet.Let me know if this has already been solved in some form or fashion, or if there's a way we can get this in the new update for the browser!
Great work with Vivaldi, I love it already. Thank you so much for welcoming me to the community!

@AlohaForever Welcome to the Forum!
You probably should make a feature request or upvote some preexisting similar requests:
- Option to detect mobile touch icons instead of thumbnails
- Auto Detect Logos + Select Part of the Page for Speed Dial and Bookmark Thumbnails
To help make custom thumbnails more easily, @ematte created a tool that creates thumbnails with the logo of your choosing, centered on a canvas:
I personally just use PaintDotNet, a free photo editing program (MSpaint on steroids), with some plugins for alignment and other useful features.
A thread has also been created where other users have shared some of their custom thumbnails:
