Sites automatically blocked by Vivaldi - WHY?
-
Vivaldi 1.0.219.53 (Developer Build) (64-bit) Revision 656b8563c6cead38bd43ec7942afb440d02ca1cb OS Mac OS X Certain sites are blocked by default by the browser. For instance https://kat.cr If I click on a link from another site to this site, kat.cr, in Vivaldi it will not display any data at all, presenting a blank white page. Please fix this as we use this site every day. Thanks.

Disable "Google Phishing and Malware Protection" under 'Privacy' in Settings.
This is out of Vivaldi control, option is in for convenience and 'security' of average users.
-
I see the same problem on many sites. Disabling the setting does not solve the problem.
-
I have never seen Vivaldi block a site. Ever.
-
I have reported elsewhere and via a bug report that sites often do not load (such as http://www.theweathernetwork.com). I get a blank page as reported in this thread by vkd108.
Then, strangely, later in the day, it works again.
No real pattern.
-
I should add that the same sites load in all other browsers 100% of the time.
Only Vivaldi fails.
-
There's a huge difference between "blocked" and "does not load". The title is misleading.
And Kickass is loading perfectly here.
-
I don't know the difference.
I did a clean install by removing the library folder for the profile and now my problems have gone away.
-
The difference is:
Blocked
Browser deliberately blocked the page, showing a message that it has blocked the page from loading. The browser DOESN'T WANT to show the page.Does Not Load
The page simply does not load, nothing is rendered in the page area, fully black/blank screen. The browser CAN'T show the page.Calling a "does not load" as "blocked" is FUD. Claims devs are deliberately blocking pages, which is not the case.
-
Thank you very much for the correction.
In that case, I have not seen deliberate blocking.
