Post 3.0 updates – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1906.3

[UI] Only focusable elements in popup should be focused via Tab key (VB-66786)
uhm, this introduced a regression I think, if search field is shown as button, pressing ctrl-K to pop it up, the search engine icon is focused instead of the edit field, and I have to press Tab to focus it. It works if search field is shown always next to the address field.
-
[Developer Tools] Docked tools unresponsive to cursor interactions on breakpoint hit (VB-54268)
this should be a nice fix for all the web devs, at last.
-
[Sync] Make various UI settings syncable (VB-66172)
Can you be more cryptic? Which ones?
-
(VB-67118) Columns in Password Manager no longer Resizable
-
This haven't happened since a long time to me, but after this update I now have a second Bookmarks folder (mine was already called Bookmarks and it seems untouched) with 5 sponsored bookmarks. I didn't even know you can make multiple bookmark folders with the same name
This shouldn't really happen, tho. Don't do it. -
@Gwen-Dragon Not true, 1874.27 was fine, and before the 2-3 months of buggy snapshots with the Chrome notifications, the rest of the earlier snapshots were fine as well.
The notifications bug was fixed and now it got broken yet again. -

Notifications still not appearing in the Action Center in Windows 10
Go to
vivaldi://flags/#enable-native-notifications
and switch it to "Enabled".@Gwen-Dragon said in Post 3.0 updates – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1906.3:
@nikles1991 Snapshots always had the issue to use non-native (internal Chromium) notifications.
Not entirely correct. Snapshots used to have native desktop notifications by default, but it disappeared a couple of versions ago. I've since turned on the flag I linked above and native notifications are working perfectly.

In arch Linux, we have to download a 500 Mb something FFmpeg codex for Vivaldi to access sounds. Although there is one more repo providing pretty small package. But can it be included in the browser setup itself?
Even adding widevine thingy, it first downloads chrome/chromium deb of size 100mb or so then extracts from it. -
@evilspark: No you don't. Remove the package, restart once and you will have working video anyway.
-
Notes Panel Markdown
Table markdown is working again in the panel, but not yet in the experimental note editor.

@Komposten The flag doesn't work here. It never did (for this specific issue, I think it worked in the past when native notifications were first experimentally introduced). You can enable it, yes, but when the bug is present, the Chrome notification keep appearing.
Easy to test with something like:

Thanks for the bug fixes
More bug and performance passes coming up I hope, get that bug count down before adding new features -
@Ruarí
That's for latest snapshot downloaded from aur. It is asking for it.edit - the sound is still working tho. maybe you guys should hide it.
-
Clock Date formatting is still broken. I tried resetting toolbars and restarting Vivaldi.
Windows Settings
Submitted Bug as:
(VB-67122) Clock Date Suffixed by PM

Easy to test with something like:
https://www.thinkbroadband.com/downloadI was running on either the previous snapshot or 3.0 RC3 before and it worked just fine. Just updated now to this snapshot and the Chromium notifications are back, so I guess this snapshot (or maybe the previous one) broke something.
-
@Pesala Who would have thought a simple status bar clock would be so much trouble eh
-
@Pathduck If it had stayed as a simple Status Bar clock it would not have been much trouble, but we already talked about the dangers of Creeping Sophistication. That's why a whole lot of time is being devoted to getting it working under all scenarios, different time zones, OS settings, etc.
-
@Komposten Yeah, the previous snapshot worked just fine. That flag seems to default to Enabled, there was no need to manually activate it.
Hopefully this means it should be easy to locate the regression. -
Native notifications never, ever worked for me, either on stable or snapshot. And it's a critical issue since we are going to need them for Mail/Feeds.

[BUG?] preferences are a black square with no content, in private mode (only)
try this:- start Vivaldi in incognito
- assign a keyboard shortcut to settings (e.g. ALT+P)
- press ALT+P
You'll see that the preferences are just a black square with nothing in it.
To use the preferences, you'll have to start a new (normal) Vivaldi window and press ALT+P.
Preferences are usable only in Vivaldi windows that are not incognito.
