      @stardepp, supposedly in the vast majority, the list is on the official page in the form of scrolling logos.
      In any case, I also use other systems, well working with proxie and a special one for scientific content, which does not eliminate the paywall, but searches a database in research centers for the original source and redirects there.
      https://1ft.io
      https://www.sci-hub.st

      Andisearch also can summarize contents, but it isn't so complete, but also it's reader mode works sometimes.

      Good tip, works great for bypassing paywalls.

      To bypass paywalls the extension to use is "Bypass Paywalls Chrome Clean":

      The list of supported websites is endless.

      @stardepp, another nice one

      What is smry?

      Smry.ai provides users with a subtle method to obtain summarized content, effectively circumventing conventional paywalls. By simply appending "smry.ai/<url>" to the desired URL, users can effortlessly access instant summaries, offering an innovative way to navigate online content free from traditional subscription restrictions. Easy to use and highly reliable, Smry.ai also enables users to compare various internet archives such as Google Cache and Archive.org, ensuring transparency about the source of their content.

      https://www.smry.ai/?url=%s

      I will not include this search engine in the collection because it is illegal.

      @stardepp, not sure of this, summarize a content isn't the same as breaking or blocking paywalls, even BingAI, GoogleBart or Andi can do this. Other methode is what Sci-hub do, in case of a paywall in a scientific publication it search the text in the original source, if exist.
      Nobody can create an paid account in every newspaper or publication to be able to read an article, this can only be expected for people who read this magazine or newscast every day.

      @mikeyb2001, among others (the long code correspond to the settings you use, instead of cookies), with the Optics function you can discart or also limit the results tos specific sites, but I mostly use Andisearch and apart Startpage, Mojeek and sometimes Whoogle, but I test also different other engines, like the mencioned one and currently eTools.ch, a Metasearch engine with 15 engines from Swiss, but currently I'm struggeling to insert it in my search engine list, none of the normal search querie codes work, maybe @stardepp or someone other can help to find it out.

      According to https://www.etools.ch/plugins/etools-metasearch-https.xml search works like:
      https://www.etools.ch/searchSubmit.do?query=%s

      The site itself does not seem to provide search suggestions.
      For the address bar, one could misuse another search engine for suggestions, i.e.:
      https://api.qwant.com/api/suggest/?q=%s&client=opensearch

      Not sure if that is a good idea.

      Thanks, that it is, I don't use search suggestions anyway, normally I know what I want to search without suggestions.

      Change to:

      Post param: encoded_image={google:imageThumbnail}

      Google changes this all the time πŸ€¦β™‚

      Seems like they changed this again because now I get

      https://lens.google.com/v3/upload?lm=ChAIBBIMCNmC/KsGEICWrNsBChQIBRIMCNmC/KsGEMCa6dsBIgIIAQ==
      400. That’s an error.

      The server cannot process the request because it is malformed.
      It should not be retried. That’s all we know.

      @iAN-CooG Yes, they broke it again. I can't be arsed to figure out the POST stuff so now I just use:
      https://lens.google.com/uploadbyurl?url={google:imageURL}
      as Image Search URL

      Probably more future-proof than having to mess with the POST image encoding.

      Thanks for the workaround, I removed the POST parameter string, replaced the image search URL and this way it works.
      let's wait for an official solution.

      I'm not sure how to use this (can you explain?) but for you and @iAN-CooG i'd like to point out it is still possible to use the classic, non-lens version of the Google Reverse Image Search via Right Click > Search by Image in a older version of Vivaldi I happen to still be using:

      @jabberwockxeno said in Search for image (using Google) Does Not work:

      I can still use the classic, non-lens reverse search via Vivaldi's Right Click > Search By Image option on my version of Vivaldi, which is Vivaldi 6.1.3035.111 / Chrome 114.0.5735.204

      As proof, here's a screenshot, I just did this right now.

      alt text

      So, clearly, it is still possible to access this form of reverse search, if configured right....

      That post of mine in the other thread has more info.

      So, if it's still possible to do in older versions of Vivaldi then there should be a way to re-add the functionality in current versions of Vivaldi?

      If there's anything I can do to help other people reverse engineer this or whatever, let me know!

      @jabberwockxeno I think it's up to the devs managing what to do, if they actually care to fix their browser's features

      Independent index, private and the special feature to show ads, trackers and other crap waiting for us in the pages, listed in the search results. Something like an inbuild Blacklight service
